Looks like there is some damage to components/board inside. Might require attention by a qualified service technician.

My Boston Acoustic Avidea 610 home theatre receiver popped last night and lost power! it has not been able to be powered up again!

Sounds like you blew a cap or some sold state device in the power supply section of receiver. Open her up and start looking and smelling - replace bad parts and cross fingers.

While watch tv last night heard a crakle and we lost the picture on our samsung dpl tv. We got a new lamp and installed it. There is still no picture.

Sounds like the color wheel has shattered and the sensor is blocked by the peices. If the wheel was not blocked you would have a black and white picture.

42 inch LG Plasma TV - Lost picture

Most likely what happened is one of the capacitors went bad. When a capacitors goes bad it produces a popping sound. This could be an easy and cheap fix if you find the bad capacitor or capacitors. The bad capacitor will have a bulging top most likely on the power board but could be anywhere.
