My screen is blank, cant access my computer

If your computer won'r boot, you have a problem with your Hard Drive or the boot system of your drive. You should have an emergengy disk/CD to access your computer for this case and repair boot or check integrity of your drive. No way to help you by answering a question

Do you have another monitor to test your computer? Looks like a surge went into the computer display and damaged the video card.

Ive seen this on other monitors. Look for a 1 and 2. Some monitors do NOT auto detect a signal, and this one might not. Look for a way to set the monitor from Digital input to VGA input. Try that and see.

• check the cable on the monitor screen
• if after removing the data cable from the computer and it has no vertical color screen then
  
• try other data cable
• try other monitor screen
  

I would recomend looking behind the left access cover in the trunk where the navigation computer is located. Inspect the area for any water intrusion, and if possible check the connections to the navigation computer for water or corrossion. the display colors are generated by the navigation computer via RGB lines. If the nav computer is cutting out, that would explain why a battery reset helps restore the picture.

I suspect the invertor supplying power to the Xenon backlight tubes has failed.
This can be reapired but may not be cost effective.
Ask for a quote from your local computer specialist but keep in mind the cost of a new monitor.

You most definately have bad capacitors in the power supply. try and get it repaired as soon as possible, not an expensive repair that iv'e seen.

I would suggest try rebooting in SAFE MODE and the right clicking with the mouse on the screen go to properties then setting and change the area of the screen

Check connections, Hertz rate, and settings (if you can read them). Otherwise, it may be time to whip out the cash and get a new monitor and/or computer.
