To manually disarm the alarm; open the door, turn the ignition on, press and release the valet switch. The alarm should chirp twice. Start the vehicle.

SOURCE: problem with my viper alarm system on my 98' odyssey

first, you need to manuslly disarm the alarm. open driver's door, put key in ignition, turn on ignition, an then within 10 seconds push the valet/program button for a couple of seconds. (it is the little spring loaded push button that they installed with your system. probably in the kick panel or under dash

Where is the fuse box on my '99 Durango SLT 5.2?

. most likely you need to change the remote battery. It's responcable for many things working correctly. my daughters car locked on her and the alarm sounded and had to disconnect battery in her car to get alarm to stop. when a theft is in process the vehicle takes over and don't allow it to crank and the radio also stops working along with other things. so try battery first in remote.

I have a viper 5706v installed it keep on showing error messages when i try to start it

If your Viper 5706V car alarm and remote start system is displaying error messages and not functioning properly, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:
  1. Check the Display: Look closely at the error messages displayed on the remote control or alarm system. These messages can provide valuable information about what might be causing the problem.
  2. Check the Wiring: Make sure all the wiring connections are secure and properly connected. Loose or damaged wires can cause communication errors and prevent the system from functioning correctly.
  3. Check the Battery: Ensure that the battery in both the remote control and the vehicle is fully charged. Weak batteries can lead to communication problems and errors.
  4. Reset the System: Try resetting the Viper system by disconnecting the vehicle's battery for a few minutes and then reconnecting it. This can sometimes clear any temporary glitches in the system.
  5. Check Antenna Placement: The antenna for the remote start system should be placed in a location that allows for clear communication between the remote control and the vehicle. Check if the antenna is properly positioned and not obstructed.
  6. Review the Manual: Refer to the user manual that came with your Viper 5706V system. It may contain troubleshooting steps and error code explanations specific to your model.
  7. Seek Professional Help: If you're unable to resolve the issue on your own, consider seeking assistance from a professional car alarm installer or a Viper authorized dealer. They have the expertise and tools to diagnose and fix complex issues.
  8. Update the Firmware: If the system's firmware can be updated, consider updating it to the latest version. New firmware releases often include bug fixes and improvements that could address the error messages you're encountering.
  9. Remote Control Programming: Sometimes, error messages can be due to issues with remote control programming. Follow the instructions in the manual to reprogram the remote control to the system.
  10. Check Sensor Connections: If your Viper system includes additional sensors or accessories (such as door sensors or motion detectors), ensure that they are properly connected and functioning.
Remember that troubleshooting complex car alarm and remote start systems might require specialized knowledge and tools. If you're not comfortable with the troubleshooting steps or if the issue persists, it's recommended to consult with a professional who is experienced in car alarm and remote start installations.

Viper 771 Remote start/Alarm

the viper alarm is malfunctioning , it is supposed to bypass the key ignition and or chip in the key to allow it to start , you will need to look for a reset button( under the dash and just two wires going to the button)( stuffed under the dash ) ( not the switch) , this should let you start it but if the alarm components that control that bypass is to far gone then this will not help and the alarm will need repair , replaced or removed

Assuming you have a second key try using that one to deactivate the alarm, if not replace battery in remote. Does lock and unlock work now? you will need to get the remote operational to disengage the security feature that will not allow car to start.
if not disconnect the car battery let sit for 15 min to reset system try again..make sure bettery in remote is installed properly.
