Scanning to e-mail - Bizhub 215

Hi, I cant get my Bizhub 215 working for scanning to e-mail. The problem is that in the settings there is no "authentication" for SMTP server. There is e-mail but NO PASSWORD option - but I have to enter password when I want to get into SMTP. So how do I do that? Thanks, Karlos

Hi,
I don`t have Admin. 2 in my KONICA MINOLTA bizhub 215 so I can`t go to software sq and I can`t change mode selection. Do You have any solution?

This setting is only for bizhub 200 - 350


How to set up the machine for SMTP authentication. There is no selection to enter the information in network setup on the machine.
Solution
CAUSE: Incorrect soft switch setting.
SOLUTION: Perform the following:

1. Touch utility button
2. Admin. Management
3. Admin. 2
4. Software SW
5. Enter the soft switch mode 380. Set bits 6 and 2 to 1.
6. Re-start the machine. The SMTP settings will now appear in the network setup of the Admin 2 mode to allow entry of the user name and password.

    Unfortunately, this model Bizhub 215 supports scan to e-mail client only SMTP without authentication, which at this time is very outdated. It should rather choose another method of scanning. Wia / Twain, FTP, SMB.

Bizhub 352 not scanning to emails

Check your DNS and Mail server settings to make sure they are correct.
If your mail server uses authentication you will need to turn this on and input a user name and password for your mail server. To turn on SMTP authentication you must enter service mode and change switch settings. I would recommend contacting a local Konica Minolta deal and have a technician do this. If you change the wrong switch setting you will cause all kinds of problems.

Can not make bizhub c252 scanning trough e-mail feature

Can you print to your PC? if yes you know how to assign ip address to the copier. I suggest is to go web browser and type the ip adress of the copier. log in to adminstrator the password 12345678 click network scan you have choices which scanning you want. SMB, ftp scan to email. If choose SMB first you have create Folder to your desktop and name it SMB all upper case and right click sharing and permit everyone . Then back to copier web browser click tab scan and type all the names you want. Scan to e-mail you have to click network and enable the scan to email enter the SMTP leave the port 25 do not change assign a valid email address to copier and enter email address of the administrator user id and the last is the pasword. Note: everytime you visit this page you should enter the password. then click the scn tab and enter all your email address. enjoyprograming!!!

Scanning to email

The majority of the time when scanning stops working is the ISP has changed settings, whether it be the smtp server itself changing, the ip address of the smtp server changing, or they have turned off non authenticated relay. Have you tried scanning to your computer instead?

SMB Scanning to a Macintosh

I don't know if SMB for a Mac is supported on Bizhubs. I know it works with Microsoft workgroups. The only other way to get around it is to scan to e-mail. Then retrieve the e-mail from a Mac.

Unless you are scanning to e-mail in which case you will need to put in the SMTP mail server settings into the admin section of your network settings.

Scanning Problems

mail server issue. check your outgoing mail server. Most smtp depends on your isp. for instance, use smtp.sbcglobal.net for at&t isp. if you have an exchange server use your exchange server's outgoing mail.

with scan to Email on this machine you need a mail server that is local with ftp scanning you need IIS running on either XP Pro or server OS SMB Scanning can be done but only if you are using an eithernet connection which one of these do you want do to do
