If this is a gas stove, you've shorted out the ignitor circuit.  If it is electric...you may have gotten some of your cleaner into one of the controls.  See what doesn't work and trace from there.

3 of 4 knobs do not compress to turn on gas

You must replace those controls. Cleaning or loosening them up would be temporary at best and the next time they stick it could be in the open position. Safety first...Eric

Igniter of back burner dies not click or light

I had the same issue with washing the top with water and cleaning solution. I had arching, eventually one burner failed to ignite. I tried the above solution and it did not work. Remove the ceramic top on the burner that will not ignite. Turn on another working element. Do you see the igniter working?

If so slowly turn on the gas on the failed burner and it will ignite. I'm looking into what component automatically controls the igniting and gas release when the knob is turned on.

I need metal replacement stove knobs.

I was able to find online some metal knobs that MIGHT work, but the prices ranged from $30 to 60 EACH, and I needed 5 - too costly for me!
The following 3 plastic knobs will work on your Jenn Air range, model JGR8875QDS. By "work" I mean they will fit your burner controls, operate the burners just like the factory knobs, and the markings on the knobs for "Off" "Lite" and "Hi" will be in the correct positions, similar to the factory knobs. (Exception: The last knob listed has markings somewhat different than the Jenn Air knobs.)

The following knobs do NOT look like your factory knobs - all three are made from black plastic rather than the (fake) silver metal look of the (plastic) OEM knobs. What I cannot tell you is if the following knobs will be more durable than the factory knobs - but then it's hard to imagine how they could be much worse.

-------- Burner control knobs known to work on the Jenn Air JGR8875QDS gas range --------

1. Whirlpool part number 74008850, made for some Amana gas ranges, will fit the Jenn Air. RepairClinic.com calls it part #1035119, and PartsSelect.com calls Item #PS2086316; it sells for $6-7 (USD). You can see a photo by entering the appropriate part number in the search box of either of the two websites mentioned above. The Amana knob is about a quarter-inch larger in diameter than the OEM knobs, but that does not cause any problems. Of the several knobs I tried this is the only one that tells me what it's made from - "PBT" - or polybutylene terephtalate, a thermoplastic which has a melting point of 430 degrees F and a maximum utilization temperature of 330 F.

2. Whirlpool part number 74009094, made for some Maytag gas ranges will also fit the Jenn Air. RepairClinic.com calls it #1035342, and PartsSelect.com calls it #PS2086544. It sells for about $9 on both sites. You can see it here:
www.repairclinic.com/Appliance-Parts?s=t-74009094-%3d%3d
Like the Amana knob, the Maytag knob is about a quarter-inch larger than the OEM Jenn Air knob.

3. A third knob worth considering is available from AmericanStoveParts.com for $7 each. The front of the knob looks much like their OEM Replica Burner Knob 1104-B (but don't order #1104-B - it won't fit). The knob that will fit the Jenn Air is AmericanStoveParts #1214-025-B. You will have to order it by phone or email because it is not shown on their website. (As of October 2009, none of the knobs shown on AmericanStoveParts.com will fit the Jenn Air.)

Notice the markings on the 1214-025-B are not quite like the Jenn Air markings, with the "HI" and the "LITE" positions being reversed. Also, the 1214-025-B knob I received did not have the white dot at the "OFF" position nor the white ring around the periphery as shown in the photo of the 1104B knob. The total diameter of the the 1214-025-B is 2" - the same as the factory Jenn Air knobs.

While I don't think the front of 1214-025-B looks quite as nice as the Amana or Maytag knobs, the back of the knob appears to be much more robust than on the others. The extra plastic MAY make this one more durable.
-------------
I have installed the Amana knobs (#1), and I will report back if it proves unsatisfactory.

Suggestions for cleaning the genn air stove top JDR8895aas

I have no solution but I have a Jenn-air stove, white with dual fuel and the oven door is badly stained on the top, probably from the vapors when self-cleaning. I have tried many things and they won't touch it. can someone help me out

Jenn-Air stove locked

After the lock indicator light goes out, move the door lock lever to the left. The oven door can now be opened. Turn the selector and temperature knobs from clean to off AFTER THE DOOR IS UNLOCKED. If the temperature knob is turned to off BEFORE the door is unlocked, the door will not open. Forcing the lock will damage the lock mechanism. If this should happen, return the temperature knob back to CLEAN, unlock the door, THEN turn the temperature knob off. Jen-Air Gas range Igniter keeps clicking but not starting fire

01/26/09 My wife decided to give our Jenn-Air a good cleaning. With lot's of soapy warm water she pulled the knobs off and washed under each of them not realizing excess water was now running down the inside of each control knob shaft. The igniter immediately began clicking away as it was being shorted by the conductance of the water now inside of the switch. I had to remove the cover (2-screws) to access the control switches but that is all I needed to do do in order to have clear access. Using her hair dryer it took about 5 minutes of warm air blowing down each of the shafts until the water evaporated and the clicking stopped. Wahla. The old Jenn-Air is back to working order again.

GE profile glass stove top

You got one or more of the burner switches wet. (It usually happens when you wash the knobs and water stays in the holes until you replace it on the shaft) If just water they may work after a day or two. try using a hair dryer, Keep it at least 12 inches away. If oven cleaner or other chemical got inside switches they may need to be replaced. If you can't dry them out. Disconnect the wires from all but one switch at a time and see which one/s need to be replaced. Sometimes the electric part of the switch can be seperated from the gas part and replaced seperately. DO NOT LEAVE THE STOVE PLUGGED IN until you fix this problem. There have been reports of fires started from this electrical problem. You could also burn out the spark ignightor. The fire problems have been mostly with Maytag/Jenn air products but my whirlpool blew a fuse and shot sparks when this happened to me. I just replacet the whole cooktop as my gas valves were one piece units and way to expensive to repair.

Jenn Air Older Oven wall unit only

Shannbooks The first thing I would recommend to do is to reset the power. Turn off the breaker for the range for couple minutes and then turn it on. In the most cases it works. Set the time of the day and try to use the oven. If it would not solve the problem let me know. Good luck. Gendos. post back...
