No problem! I just bought a LG RH265 and made it multi region with no problems:
on your remote-
1) press HOME
2) move to SET UP
3) scroll down to LOCK (no need to enter LOCK options)
4) press "0" seven times
5) a message will appear stating the dvd player is region free.
6) ENJOY!!!

The music association does not want users to play DVDs from other countries. Your DVD player will switch countries about three times then lock up. Contact the OEM, they have to do that by law in the US.
enter "setup" from the remote
Scroll down to the lock symbol
Press the "0" button 7 times
You'll get a confirmation message and then your DVD player is region free :-)
The geographical regions are as follows:
REGION 1 -- USA, Canada REGION 2 -- Japan, Europe, South Africa, Middle East, Greenland REGION 3 -- S.Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Parts of South East Asia REGION 4 -- Australia, New Zealand, Latin America (including Mexico) REGION 5 -- Eastern Europe, Russia, India, Africa REGION 6 -- China REGION 7 -- Reserved for Unspecified Special Use REGION 8 -- Reserved for Cruise Ships, Airlines, etc... REGION 0 or REGION ALL -- Discs are uncoded and can be played
Worldwide, however, PAL discs must be played in a PAL-compatible unit
and NTSC discs must be played in an NTSC-compatible unit.
The end result is that DVDs encoded for regions other than Region 1
cannot be played on a region 1 DVD player, also, players marketed for
other regions cannot play region 1-stamped DVDs.
Where did u bought this DVD player?US,Canada, and Mexico? The DVD disc. used NTSC region format.Asia,Europe,Africa, and the Middle East. The DVD disc. used PAL region format. They can't be mix or it will not play as u find out.If u move in and out to another region of the world.U must have a regions free DVD player to play either NTSC or PAL regions.

DVD movies have region codes, and they typically only play on a player or DVD-ROM drive sold in the country where the DVD movie was sold.
The actual region code is in one byte on the DVD (digital versatile disc). The DVD player or drive has a region code in its firmware. Personal computer DVD-ROM players often have the code in the software or MPEG-2 decoder. The two codes must match for the player or drive to play the movie. The code is also printed on the back of a DVD package, superimposed on a small image of the globe.
DVD regional locking is used to control which DVD movies play in which countries or groups of countries. Movies are often released on different dates around the world. Region 1 has its own player that will only play Region 1 discs. Likewise, Region 2 players can only play Region 2 discs and not play any of Region 1's discs. The six codes are:
United States and Canada
Europe and Japan
Southeast Asia
Latin America and Australia
Russia, rest of Asia and Africa
China
please check the DVD region code again and what PLAYER u are using to play on PC / LAPTOP??
Thank you .. thank you..
I bought 4 dvd's from the states that wouldn't play in Australia changed the region and it is now playing
thank you so very much
