Films on usb have no sound

I play .avi format videos via the USB port on the TV. However some AVI files work OK while others have picture but no sound. The sound is there as I can hear it on other media but just not on the TV. Is there any reason for avi files not to play sound and if so how do I know which type of avi files the TV supports ? Thanks

Suggest downloading as many Android media players onto the TV from Google playstore and try them all. There will be some AVI files that just don't play on Android you might be able to convert avi to another video format with a file converter program.
Suggest VLC player but it is troublesome on android operating systems.
might work on your laptop or computer for the avi file.

SOURCE: unable to add avi files to to media library

hey,

you won't be able to sync the avi file because your type of avi is not supported in the Zen

if you have the creative software on your computer well go
into the menu and select creative, because I don't have it in front of me I can't tell you where this is though all you have to do is search through and look to find "video converter" it's as easy as that.
all you do is when you find this is browse for you file and say what format you want to format to and start formating. they will ask if you want to sync you finished file to your zen.

SOURCE: It doesn't work on my ps3 no picture only audio

If it works on other televisions, than the video cord must be good. Is the television on the right input channel? If it is, the video input may be bad. You should test the video input with a dvd player or vcr. You can always plug ps3 into a vcr, and vcr up to televison.

Can't play avi videos usb

Hello to all. Have twin boys staying over the holidays and they wished to view movies when they went to bed. have Polaroid 32" P32LED12 fitted to their bedroom. The tv is ok for playing dvd through it but when on using the usb drive with movies on it, it came up Invalid or Unsupported file. Have tried different movies with different formats and came up with nothing to play. So got myseld a video converter program: Wondershare video converter ultimate. On looking at the booklet from Polaroid, it says MPEG1.2, but although on converting the film to this format, the film broke up. So I took an AVI trailer and converted the trailer to all the formats on the converter and stuck this on the USB and stuck it into the tv. Out of all of them, i found that the converter format was VOB DVD FORMAT in this coverter. The film did not break up and the sound great. The film sizie was a bit smaller in frame size but this can be increased. What the converter showed after the conversion was: DVD-Video/ Format: VOB. Video Codec: MPEG-2/ Audio Codec: MPEG-2 audio. There is a settings on this converter at the lower right corner, but you can fiddle with this yourself. But to finish with, I have tried most of the films with different formats and could not get them to work on this tv, so get yourself a video program converter, put in laptop or pc and convert film to VOB. Hope this helps as there is nothing in any help on google for this tv.

My LG DP122 will play some AVI files from a USB device but not others.

figured this out, lg dp122 uses DivX Home Theater profile, so the technical specs of the video must match that.
Those specs can be found here: http://www.divx.com/files/DivX-Profiles_Tech-Specs.pdf
