Motorola 4550 locked out

The Motorola XPR 4550 is a two-way radio, not a scanner. Scanners are devices that can listen to a wide range of frequencies, whereas two-way radios are designed for communication between a limited number of specific devices on specific frequencies. However, you can use a scanner to listen to the frequency that the Motorola XPR 4550 is transmitting on.

Be sure "talkaround" is enabled on the code-plug, then use the "direct" or "talkaround" button on the front panel.

Two solutions, contact your nearest service center, or send the radio to Motorola Repair Depot. The password can only be removed by a qualified service tech. It generally means clearing the entire memory of the radio. This will erase any frequencies currently in the radio.

I also am a tech. I use an OLD computer due to the many oddities in Motorola software. My Win 98 computer finally died, so I am using a Pentium II running Win XP. But as an older tech, I still program some DOS radios. I have used a Celeron laptop in the field running Win 7, but it took me 6 trys for it to work. I think the CPU was too fast. Motorola does not agree with me :) . I bought an older laptop and a new battery and it is only used for programming. Win XP with an older Pentium. About 12 year old platform. Hope this helps!

If you enter wrong password for more then 5 times,it ll ask you to enter the puk number....now call your customer care and
get the puk number...enter the puk number in the space given for password....thats it...problem is fixed
If you had locked your mobile then update the formware all saved passwords will be deleted.

Try cycling the power, IE remove the battery again.

hi friend u have to call your service provider from your friend's cell phone then they ask for your SIM card No. then give PUK NO. then u have to enter this code all step by step they teach u how to unlock your phone

see buddy what u have to do is firstly u have to put worng code 4-5 times than it will ask for the PUK code which u have to put in after that. it will reset the password ,,,, if uu have allready followed the procedure than u can consult withany local vendor out there.
