How do I charge my toshiba laptop?

Can you be able to power up your laptop using charger only? (without battery installed)
If your laptop can't be charged while on, I assume you can only charge it when it's off.
There're 2 possibilities:

Your charger is defective.
It's not a total failure issue, only the built-in chipset is compromised, so you cannot get the correct voltage your laptop needed.
Your laptop will refuse to accept the charger in this condition.

Your battery is defective.
You can find another toshiba l505 charger to rule out this possibility.

So long as your battery is recognized by your laptop the driver is present. But the problem lies in the charging circuits in the motherboard, it appears it is not functioning, a very rare situation. You would need to buy a new charger, its possible that your laptop charger is faulty, try getting a new charger and battery.

Remove the battery and try if the PC turn on connecting to direct currrent.
If it turn on (whitout battery), the issue should be a connector problem or a damaged internal recargher.

If you have another power charger try it. It can only be one of two things. Bad charger or bad battery. Most likely the battery will need replaced

USB charging is not possible. You need to have the battery charger to be able to fully charge the battery. This should come along with the camera kit.

I'd suggest removing the battery. Most laptops can run directly off the AC adapter. If it will boot up OK without the bad battery, you can either leave it like that, or buy a new battery.

If it won't boot, then you have problems other than the battery.

Damaged battery or internal circuit problem it is hard to to say. Bring your laptop to a repair shop. They can check the battery and tell you what the problem is.
