Vent allows fresh air to come in from outside.Some units have an exaust lever too, this does the same thing.

It sounds like it needs freon,you will have to buy a saddle valve to have a service port to do this,and a can of freon,if you know someone who can do this,it needs to be done with gauges,so not to lock the compressor up.

It should have screws on either side of the plastic part. Take those off and it will take some work to remove it. I cannot find my manual.

Hi, I have been trying to get in touch with a service rep to find out but unable to get one. They wanted proof that I had purchased a unit. Its possible that your receptacle is not polarized right. By that I mean the two wires may need switched on the receptacle or maybe it doesn't have a good ground. You may want to try temporarily using an extension cord and try another plug. Most things will run good on receptacles wired wrong but with a computerized AC it may be seeing a fault. If you still need help I think the best way to find out would be for you too contact the store that you bought the unit from and make it their responsibility to find out what the EE stands for. If they cant, get the unit replaced and try again. If you do get hold of a service tech # from Maytag, please send it to me at [email protected] Hope this helps. kstfas
