Yes, thats correct. If lcd tv screen got hit by some thing then lcd panel got cracked and does show distorted lines or cracks instead of picture and lcd panel have to be replaced that would cost you 70% to 80% of new tv price. New TV is better option.
Sorry, the screen can't be repaired. Only screen replacement at that point. The screen itself costs $350 minimal if you can find one for a good deal. And we're not talking about the labor costs involved.
At this point, it would be cheaper to buy a new TV.

Hi there, I now have two Cybershot DSC-T10 with broken LCD's. The best remedy that I have found is buy a parts camera with a good LCD on EBAY. You can get the whole camera for way cheaper than you can buy a new LCD.
