HST-221 Sony Stereo Component system - Lost System Control Cable

I need to replace a 9-pin flat ribbon system control cable for an older -- but still perfectly functional Sony system. The cable -- which features a flat 9-pin array -- connects HST-221 to CDP-c221 CD player. Cable was lost in a move, and I need to replace or find a substitute. In months of looking, haven't found any on internet.

Gents - not sure where you live, but try these UK links. The D65 was a similar system produced a year or two earlier, if the cable is 15 pin my bet is it is the same cable. Good luck, better look after my cables carefully!

SOURCE: where to find a replacement connector for my technics st-ch510 audio system

Try looking at tritronicsinc.com. They are a distributor for Panasonic parts. Use the model number to search their parts listings. If you have difficulty, call them up for assistance.

My tv is on cable but still will not pick up cable channels during auto search. Old big screen Sony

Is your TV analog. All channels are in digital and you may need a converter box to get the right signal. Best to just get a top box from your cable provider

Trying to set up just the amp & tapedeck of the Sony TA-AX335 integrated stereo system, but can't get the ribbon power cord to work.

Does the deck light-up at all, or is it completely dead? I've found that in aging tape decks, the belts will deteriorate, and change into tar. I've repaired several of the TA series Sony systems, and that's usually the case. If the deck is just 'dead,' I would recommend retrofitting standard RCA jacks on the back of the amplifier. The pins on the ribbon cable are clearly marked on the PC board inside the amp. Then, you could use any deck you want, or even a CD recorder. Hope this helps. :)

I have a sony ps-lx10 turntable, and want to connect it to a non-Sony system. The power ribbon needs to be modified. How do I do that?

First of all you would need to know 2 things. One the voltage supply needed to run the turntable. Two the voltage outputed by the non Sony system. If these don't match you could have a problem. For example if the Sony Turntable runs of say a 6 volt supply and the system puts out say 12 volts. You will damage the turntable. Chances are unless the non Sony system was actual made by Sony under a different name then the two supplys will not match. If you can connect up the two the Turntable will either run slow or fast. If the output supply is only 6 volts and the turntable motor works on 9 volts or higher you will never get it to run at the correct speed.
If you work out the two work off a similar voltage, you need only connect the plus wires together and the negative wires together and the motor should turn. Most turntables have speed presets, for each speed. You will need to find them and adjust them to get the speed right on each speed.

Where can i get ribbon connectors for sony stero system part#26AWG THE END OF THE CONNECTED IS BROKEN OFF

I doubt at this point you will ever find a new one but hope is not lost entirely. Since these are not high current cables the possibility exists to solder the one end of a ribbon cable to the board and then attach a dB connector to the cable for interconnection and taking the system apart. This would solve this problem. In fact ribbon cable of different types can be obtained new and this might be a good upgrade to do as most dB connectors are made with Gold flashed pins. The trouble is not many technicians will want to do this for cheap.

Missing a cable from main unit to sub woofer. where can i buy one

Bought the wafr stereo system, came without the 9 pin male to 9 pin male subwoofer cable. Called the Brookstone outlet I bought it at and they are mailing me one. Cable is actually power and audio combined, specialty cable, you probably can't find one in any standard outlet

Error message 91-1E5

error 91-1E5 is "communication error between system control and DIF microprocessor". look for a loose ribbon cable internally, although component failure is a possibility.

Sony fwd50px2/s

The monitor should have come with several cables and adapters. One adapter converts the stereo RCA plugs to a stereo 1/4 inch plug that connects next to the dvi outlet.
