Hi, W/D here.
Check the brushes first. Demo's get pilfered for small items, and the brushes may have been 'misplaced'. If they're there, then trace your wiring through the switch.

Whereto get manual for roto zip z20

The manufacturer's web site has the manuals for many of their tools on their support page: http://www.rotozip.com/en-us/support/Pages/Manuals.aspx . If you have the RZ-20, the direct link to the manual is http://www.rotozip.com/en-us/support/Documents/WEB2610938267%2002-07%20RZ1-25.pdf .

I don't know of a Z20 from RotoZip. I hope this helps.

Wiring diagram for rotozip RZ2000

You may have a crippled display unit. Open the rear clamshell and see if there are any other parts missing, wires clipped. Draw the front casting and armature out and see if there's a hole drilled thru the field coil.

Saw just stopped

I used my Rotozip once, off and on for about one hour total time. I put it away, very glad that I had bought it. It did a great job by the way. I did not need it again for another year and a half. Recently, I had another "honey do" project to take care of, so when I took it out of it's tool bag, I was certain it would take care of my project in no time. I plugged it in, hit the switch and nothing. So, I plugged it in another outlet... nothing. Shook all the cords to check for a broken wire... nothing. No power... nothing. Talk to me, is there a circuit breaker in there somewhere or do I have to send it back to Rotozip?

I have had similar problems in the past using my Roto-Zip on jobs. You may want to check the internal brushes in the machine have not been clogged with the dust from the ceramic tiles. The unit may have simply overheated from the stress of cutting the tile. This will also affect the brushes in the Roto-Zip. A can of compressed air may help clear any dust built up around the brushes. If they brushes are caked with to much dust, you may have to take the unit appart and manually clean the brushes. But, be careful because the brushes are spring loaded. Hope this information is helpful.
