Where is blade lock for my Skilsaw 5150 located

look for the button on the right side of the handle. Other models require you to put a phillips head screwdriver into a hole in the blade to hold it against the body of the saw.

How to remove arbor bolt to change blade

Best thing to do is to just rest the blade teeth against a peice of scrap wood, and use the allen key/spanner to undo the bolt. As the bolt undoes in the direction of the cut, the blade teeth should dig in and stop it turning. If the blade lock isn't working anymore, it could mean that it has broken inside, so be careful, incase there is a bit of loose metal in the gearbox, it will be quite catastrophic if it gets caught in the gears.

Bosch 71/4 wormdrive keeps flipping breaker

If the saw is tripping breakers, either you are trying to run the saw on a circuit that can't handle the amps the saw needs to run or something is wrong with the saw that is making it draw more amps than it should.Power supply: You should be on a 15 amp circuit or higher for this saw. Popping breakers can also be caused by using long or low guage extension cords or a low guage power cord on the saw. The saw should have a 14 guage power cord on it and extension cords should not be lower than 12 guage if 50 feet long.Saw: You've already replaced the cord & switch, if the brushes are OK, look to the mechanics of the saw. The blade should turn freely and smoothly by hand with the saw unplugged. Things to look for are a lack of lubrication in the transmission, binding or broken gears in the trans and binding or seized bearings on the armature or worm gear set. Also, a dull blade forced through wood will also cause the saw to be overworked and draw enough power to trip breakers.

Blade change skilsaw 5150

The locking button on this saw is designed for safety. If you are attempting to change the blade it should NOT be plugged in. It sounds as if someone has pushed the lock button while the motor was running and sheared it off.
The only tool that is required to change the blade is the supplied wrench or an equivalent box end. If you cannot make the repair yourself for have the equipment repaired you can take a pair of vise grips. (Use cardboard to prevent warping or gouging the blade) and clamp the edge of the blade below the teeth. The vise grips will stop at the front of the saw as it is too large to pass by the guard allowing you to loosen the nut. Clamp the new blade in the same way only the back of the saw will be used to tighten.

I highly recommend that you either repair yourself or have the tool repaired by a professional.

Parts schematics are all over the net for this tool, here is an example:

As you can see most of the mechanical parts are only a few dollars and it could save you from serious injury during operation.

No inner washer to keep blade in place

I really wish I could give you a link to somewhere you could find your part but I have checked all the ones I know and it's a pretty big list. I came up empty. I just don't see a way for you to get a replacement for that saw.
However many saws have the same or similar parts. You need to measure the shaft diameter and head to a hardware to check what ever saw you can for a replacement.
Worst case scenario is to take your saw to a small local machine shop. Find the oldest guy in the place and explain your problem. Buy him a cup of coffee and he'll make you one for practically nothing.

Hey it worked on my boss every time.
I hope this helps.

I replaced the brushes in my skilsaw and although

Depending on how old the saw is some spark when fresh brushes are installed is common. The brushes have to seat into the armature. If the sparking continues after a while the armature may be getting weak. There is nothing to lubricate that will cure a sparking issue with a power tool. Just keep using it, but keep an eye on the sparks, if they get worse, the armautre should be replaced.

I sawed the power cord in half...!

Yes it can be repaird. No offense, but can you do it? Take handle appart, may have torx screws, and remove old cord. You can buy a new exact replacement cord or a generic cordset to replace. Check wire size on your old cord.

I do not remember how to assemble the blede &

The blade should be installed with the teeth tips facing the front of the saw. Place the blade on the arbor shaft, then the blade washer and then thread the lock bolt in the arbor.

Please go to this site and download a copy of the manual for your saw. Just enter your model number. Power saws are dangerous and you should refer to the users manual for safety info before using. I hope this helps.
