You bought a "new" reconditioned remote and it doesn't work?

You should send it back for exchange or refund.
I haven't encountered reconditioned remotes before. I doubt there is much profit in reconditioning remote controls when new dedicated replacements are available at such reasonable prices. Often new original remotes aren't expensive if they are available.

SORRY TO SAY.THE ANSWER IS YES.
THE NEW OPENERS ARE NOT ON THE SAME FREQUENCY.

YOU CAN PURCHASE REMOTES THAT WILL WORK WITH BOTH OLD AND NEW OPENERS (DUAL FREQUENCY).
BUT, OLD REMOTES WILL NOT WORK WITH THE NEW OPENERS.

Try placing new batteries in the new remote

Place one remote on table, place other (new) remote facing old remote, then push the program button on new remote, remotes IR screens has to face each other to make this work. and if you've tried to program the new one before, you will have to clear the new ones memory first. Good luck.

you need to clean your remote with alcohol.open the remote and clean it with white alcohol,that should do it if not buy a new remote.you can probably get one at partstore.com..good luck.

disregard. I contacted Directv direct. They are sending me a new remote and I do not have to purchase a new box. The installer was wrong when he told me that.

Tries this website for a new remote 1-800-Remotes Factory original for new remote or tries the manual controls on the tv for functions to ajust the screeen sizes.
