The lens doesnt close and when i turn the camera on it bips three times and the screan shuts off. the lens wont close.

I took a picture and the lens never closed. the screan is functional but when i turn the camera on it's all blurry, like it's out of focus. then the camera beeps three times and the screan shuts off, but the lens is still out. it wont close. when i turn the camera on (those few seconds before it beeps and shuts off) the buttons are not functional either.

I have the same problem. I can't get the lens to close. I've only had my SD870 IS for 6 months. I tried charging it, taking the battery and memory card out. Nothing seems to work. Any advice?

The batteries need to be changed. The digital batteries sold at the stores die out too fast. I had this same problem. In result, I purchased rechargeable battieries.

When I turn the camera on , it says "lens error"

If brand new, take it back immediately to the store for exchange. It's defective.

Lens open can not shut down E18

Sometimes it just gets stuck - With the camera on go to the view mode and give it a little jiggle with your thumb and finger. Also - a can of compressed air can loosen up what ever might be stuck in there.

Not turning on and has strange smell

Powershot A640 Could Not Be Powered On, Burnt Smell

My Powershot A640 died during a picture shot, lens remaining open. I thought it may be due to the dead batteries. But after putting new batteries and pushing the on/off button, the on/off indicator blinked once then shut off by itself. After a while, a strange smell came from camera batteries area, and I could feel warm there too. Immediately I took out all the batteries from camera.

When checking the posts here the other day, I tried one solution and got the lens back to close: first took out the memory card from camera, then put the new batteries in; push the on/off button with no memory card. I found the lens retracted a little before camera shut off by itself. I pushed on/off button three times to get the lens fully close. However, the burnt smell came out again. I immediately took out the batteries.
Did I get a short circuit inside? Is there any ways to fix it?

Lens/zoom wont come out

The lens mechanism inside of the lens unit is damaged. The fix is to change the lens. You can send the camera to authorized service rep for an estimate. I believe that the cost of service many be close to or even more expensive than replacing the camera.

D-60 Digital SLR Nikon camera

where you standing very close to him?
the camera comes with a 18 - 55 lens. at 55 it is ruffly a three time magnification of what you see with the human eye. you need turn the lens to the right when you are looking through the camera to have the image magnified. If that still doesnt get you close enough then you are going to want to buy another lens. or you can also crop the photo but how much you can crop depend on how big of a picture you want to print.

Kodak Easy Share Z1275 stuck lens

I have a Kodak 1275. Green light would go on the off and lens was stuck open. Now for solution that worked for me. Get a can of compressed air, like what you use for computer keyboards. Blow the compressed air all around your stuck open lens, not to fast and switch directions of where you blow air around stuck opened lens. Make sure batteries are fresh and fully charged. Tap your camera against the palm of your hand twice, not to hard or you may damage instead of jarring lens lose. Next lay your camera on a table lens facing up, push power button on so camera will try to auto focus and lens should reseat itself and lens should move freely. It doesn`t have to look dirty or dusty, little tiny particles can cause the lens to get stuck and shut off fast because it is a safety feature. If this does not work try plugging your camera into computer so the lcd screen does not try to go on , thus giving even more power to get your lens moving . Do not try to force it closed by pushing or twisting with your hand or you may cause damage that will cost as much as the camera to fix.
