We have a Mitsubishi medallion HD1080 TV. It doesn't have Hdmi port so we used component video and audio connectors from my onkyo receiver output. The input into the onkyo receiver is HDMI signal. I don't see anything in my Mitsubishi tv if the signal is coming through component connector. However, if I connect the output from my onkyo receiver via HDMI to another TV that can take HDMI signal, then I can see the content. Can you help? What might be wrong?
Some of the older Mitsubishi with HD 1080 have only one component input for HD---it is marked on rear as DTV----also a model number may allow me to give another suggestion--Some of these sets (ws, wt, vs models) will on occasion lock out or disable the input/s.
Depending on model number most also have 3 hidden menus---one is the option menu----it allows with the Mitsubishi remote via a 4 digit number (by model number) to enter there and do a hard reset of the set----sets every setting back to factory original---seen it "cure" all kinds of odd problems from missing rear inputs, no sound, odd video issues---you name it.
Get me the model number and I will see if can find the code for yours--you can also try hooking first direct a 1080 blue ray or Dvd if you want to see if the input is active or not first.
SOURCE: We have a Denon AVR
I work at an authorized Denon service center, the only one in Michigan. So I see alot of these receivers, I have probably fixed over 100 of them.
I hope you will bare with me and respond to my requests for information, because it is likely that this problem can not be solved with just one answer on a forum.
you say you reset the video output to HDMI and have the picture. Now no audio , but you do have video.
First thiing to check would be that the source you are using on the Denon has been set to use the HDMI. You were using analog audio and it could be that your source on the Denon is still on analog.
Let me know if this helps, I have access to the service manual and can be much more help.
thanks,
Dave
SOURCE: Mitsubishi HDMI connection trouble
I have the same issue with my 73". Rather then going over all of my connections and equipment I'll just say htat I feel your frustration. I have been on the phone with Mitsubishi directly and it appears as though they have a free software upgrade that should address this problem. If you call 1-800-332-2119 and press 4 in the menu you will get someone to help you. Be patient. They will make you go through all of the fixes that you have already tried. They will mail you a flash drive that goes right into the front USB port of your TV. I hope this is of help. Good luck.

SOURCE: hooking up from hd receiver to hdtv ready
This particular television puts you in a tough bind - you can use Component cables in AV1, but you won't be able to get HD. Or you can use the Component cables in the right-most component slot, but since your HD Receiver probably doesn't have V/H Sync connectors, you may get a rolling picture. Try the component cables in the right-most slot (I'm assuming, perhaps incorrectly, that your actual model # is not really a 50P8341, which has no V/H Sync slot).

This particular television puts you in a tough bind - you can use Component cables in AV-1, but you won't be able to get HD. Or you can use the Component cables in the right-most component slot (AV-4), but since your HD Receiver probably doesn't have V/H Sync connectors, you may get a rolling picture. Try the component cables in the right-most slot - if the picture doesn't roll, you're in business.
Once again, I doubt that your model # is a 60pp9202, since that model doesn't have a VGA or DVI slot. If the picture rolls after trying the above, you will need to purchase a HDMI-to-DVI-D cable and hook it up from the HDMI output of your HD receiver to the DVI slot (that looks like a VGA slot) on the back of your Philips or Magnavox.

Blue screen signals the fact that the tv doesn't receives the signal. The HDMI connector itself is faulty. Open the back of the tv and look at the solderings for the HDMI pins - they are loose or broken.
