MAH2400AWW washer won't drain

My Maytag MAH2400AWW washer won't drain -- it makes a loud buzzing noise. Before it started doing this, it showed "nd" on the display once.

Is the pump dead or is it just clogged? Where is the pump and how do I get to it? There's still water in the machine.

I'm still having trouble getting to the pump. Removing the 3 screws at the bottom allows me to lift the white front panel (where the door is) up a bit but it's still somehow hinged at the top.

Is there no way to remove the silver panel?

Did you mean I need to tilt the machine and access the pump from UNDER the washer? This could be difficult because there's a dryer stacked on top of it...

My washer stopped working and is displaying the code nd, what does this mean?

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

ND error in your Maytag Front Load washer indicates no drain issue. To start with check the drain hose for any clogs and try cleaning it, then check restriction in drain pump assembly or loose wire at the pump. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

My amana front load washer wont spin and is showing an "nd" error message. what does this mean and how do i fix it?

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. From what I understand the error code ND means “No Drain issue”. You’ll need to check for any restriction in pump assembly. It can also be due to a restricted drain hose or loose wire at pump. If after cleaning the drain hose the issue is not resolved then it means the pump has gone bad and unfortunately needs to be replaced. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

Maytag washer MAH2400AWW problem. It stopped in the middle of washing and/or rinse cycle without finishing the work. It won't spin and the water is not draining. It only makes buzz sound and can't start...

Hi and welcome to Fixya. Usually when a unit stops in mud-cycle and the motor buzzes there is something lodged between the wash tub and the outer tub.

Draining must be done manually before you can open the door. You can try dropping the drain hose down and gravity drain the washer. If that does not work then the only other option is to unplug the unit and disconnect the tub to pump hose. Be prepaired for an immediate water mess if you manage to get the hose completely free of the fitting all at once. You only need to drain it until the water level is below the door seal.

Once you get the water out open the door then sue a flashlight to search for what it is that is preventing the tub from turning.

Don't forget to reconnect and clamp the drain hose if you disconnected it and plug the washer back in.

Thanks for using Fixya. Kelly

Can''t get my clothes out... water still inside

does it have a dial that you can manually turn to start the next cycle? You can usually drain the water by pulling the drain hose out from the wall drain behind hte washer....( usually just shoved in the drain not attached) but be aware that when you hold the hose below the water level in your washer it will start to drain. Then perhaps the door will unlatch.

Front Loader will not drain or start...

HI, check the following to address this issue.(nd=no drain)

1. Clogged drain line or water pump
Check to see if there's something stuck inside the pump or the drain hose connected to the pump (pump is usually located at the bottom and towards the back of the washing machine).

2. Water Pump
If the drain line isn't clogged, you may have a problem with the water pump such as a frozen pulley or a broken impeller. If that's the case replace the water pump. Note: if you have a belt driven washer, check the belt(s) for cracks, as this would be a perfect time to replace the belt(s) if needed.

**The most common issue will be an obstructed hose or, line
