SOURCE: Dell Latitude D600 won't go past the Dell startup screen
Tap the f7 or f8 key, when you turn it on, it should go into safe mode, Go into start programs, accesories, tools, and restore, select restore, select a date closest to today and let it go through the restore pocess, if it suceeds and starts up, rub a good virus program right away, it sounds like you picked up a virus or trojen, just be patient and it shoul be ok, if it won't go into safe mode, let me know, that will require more work. And before you do anything, unplug, remove the battery for a few minutes and replace, try it and if it still won't run, do the above, thanks ,GYM

The flickering may not be caused by a corrupt driver, it could be the impending failure of the fluorescent back light of the display or its high voltage supply.
Trying driver replacement though is the first thing to try.
If the original driver is corrupt, you can try the following;
- Right-click on My Computer
- Left-click on Properties
- Click on Hardware tab
- Click on Device Manager
- Locate and open Display Adaptors
- Locate the video listing for your
- Highlight and delete this
- Reboot the computer
If Windows does what it should (no guarantee on this!), it will 'find' a 'new device' and install the driver for it.
