I can see how to adjust the date and time stamp but cant work out how to turn it on, need the date stam p on my pictures

The date and time are stored with every image. Any photo editing program should be able to show you that data (and a LOT more); look for something like "image info" or "EXIF data". If you want the data printed with the picture, refer to the documentation for whatever program you're using to print. Depending on the program and the printer, you may be able to display the date and time on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

Date and time stamp and only comes when you are shotting and your camera support this faction. When After shotting, the time stamp won't be removed from or add to your pictures by your camera. And it's sorry for that, this Fujifilm JV100 doesn't support this faction

The S4000 won't deface your pictures by scribbling a string of numbers across them, but the information is stored with every image. Depending on the program and printer, you can print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back. Please refer to the documentation for the program you're using to print. If you're printing directly from the camera, the instructions are in the "Printing Pictures via USB" section of the manual (the section starts on page 62 in my copy, the instructions for printing the date are on page 64).
