Hi I have the same problem on my I870, when I power it up it freezes in the I870 screen and that's as far as it will go.

You Will need ? factory reset. Usually when its off press and hold power/volume up/home until you see the Android robot with an opened belly cycle trough the menu with volume up/down and select with ? quick press of power button
Try this,
power off the phone
wait 15-20 seconds
power the phone back on
goto menu->net
after the browser bage loads (or you get an error) press and hold the menu key.
Select advanced then select restart browser.
If thisdoes not work then call sprint (nextel) they will be able to help further,
You may need the front flip of your phone replaced. Alot of times this will fix shutting off issues. You can of course contact your local repair center to see if they have this part in stock. If this doesn't fix the issue it is possible that the phone can be exchanged.
