Single oven not heating

Whirlpool single oven, I think it is the model listed above.. turn the oven on, but no heat! In the oven is a grill element at the top, when selected this DOES heat up ok, so it is just the oven aspect. The light to show that oven is heating DOES come on, also the fan also comes on, just no heat. Any suggestions please??? Sick of cold food and grilled food now!

Diydoris, you would have to have someone ohm out the lower element to make sure it is good. If the element is good, then your problem probably is in the TCO. This is a thermostat that sits on the back of the oven that can go bad. You can test this with a meter, if it shows open (no continuity) its bad. Part number for the TC0 is 4450934. Part number for the element is 4448696. Catriver...post back.

Only half of the element is heating up

Are you referring to the oven grill element.? Most have a double element in them, An inner and an outer. Basically for different heat settings. ie. single grill/ double grill

Listing your make and model may help an expert answer your question more accurately.

Do you have your operators manual.?

The oven does'nt seem to be able to heat up above 150, the fan is working, the bottem half of the oven does'nt seem to heating up. Is this fixable or do i need a new oven?

Hi.

If the part that is not heating is only the bottom element, and the top element is heating regularly, then you may need to replace the lower element.
Before replacement the element can be tested removing it from the cavity and reading Ohms at the element terminals, with a multimeter set at Rx1. Disconnect power before removing the element.

If both baking and broiling element do not heath above a certain temperature instead, then the part to be replaced is the temperature probe, still located inside the oven cavity.

Regards.

Whirlpool oven heating element

Are you trying to replace the stove top element, or oven element? For the stove top element, just lift up the side opposite where it plugs in and pull straight out.

The oven element usually have one or two screws holding a plate in near where the elements go into the back of the oven. Remove the screws and pull straight out. Reverse the procedure to install a new element. The top broil element will be secured in with a couple brackets to hold it up, these must be unscrewed, removed, and then pull the broil element out.

Remember to turn off power to the range before replacing any of the elements.
