GE JCSP42SKSS stove just stopped working. No error code or anything not even a clock. All buttons are dead.
When I turn one of the knobs to start one of the surfaces, clock appears, and I can use buttons on a control panel but the surface still cold and oven doesn't work either. As soon as I turn knob off, display goes blank as well.
This happened once last week, but after turn off/on stove was working. Not this time though.
The oven control panel has failed. For more tech help with this issue and a place to order parts I suggest you go the link below, it is where I go for parts and help. You will need to model number available. Appliance Parts Lawn Mower Parts Heating Cooling Parts 365 day returns

it sounds like it burnt one of your main wires in the back of range. by turning a knob on you are getting a feed back. turn the power off remove back panel take a visual check of your wiring.

SOURCE: GE Profile Stove baking option not working
Possibly the bake igniter, the temperature sensor or the electronic oven clock/control. Does broil mode heat properly or does it run cool also? If broil heats to the proper temperature then the temperature sensor is probably ok. That leaves the ignitor or the controller which takes some more troubleshooting. If it is the controller, we repair them at www.fixyourboard.com.
SOURCE: how to change the bake element in a GE stove
Unplug or turn off all power to the oven. With most ovens you can then unscrew the element from inside the cabinet with either a screwdriver or a 1/4 nut driver. carefully pull the element out with the wires attached and dont let the wires go back through the holes. Unplug or unscrew the wires from the old element and plug into or screw onto the new depending on the type of terminal. If it is a push on type terminal make sure the connection is tight, if they are not tight pull the terminal back off and tighten the gap with pliers and recconect. put it back together and you are done. If by chance the wires are not long enough you will need to pull the stove out, remove the back panel and make the connections from the back. Good luck, it is not hard.
SOURCE: Hotpoint Glasstop Stove - Burner turns on by itself
I have a GE stove which I purchased in 2004, and it is doing the same. I heard beeping coming from the kitchen in the middle of the night . I went to the kitchen and the oven was on by itself. I have been unplugging it when not using it. Maybe this could be a recall.
