There are a number of possibilities, bad solder connections on the display board, missing B+, a defective driver display ic, this is a situation a diagram would be helpfull.

When i switch on my sony str-de375 receiver displays one or 2 lines then displays 'stereo PROTECT' & stops there.

Generally speaking, an amp attempts to protect itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

My sony str de 835 display went out. sometimes

Most likly bad solder connections on the display board. Look for solder rings on the LCD. You must remove the front panel to gain access.

Hello, I need help with my sony str-de197 receiver. Then I hit power on button, there is a click sound inside the box, but nothing happens, there is nothing on display too. I have checked 2 fuse's, it's...

It sounds like the switch might be OK mechanically but not electrically. Have a look to see if you can check the connections on the switch. Perhaps there is a broken or loose or bad solder joint.

Can you hepwith my sony LCD Problem?

It could only need some soldering of the display itself. If you want to try it your self.
remove the top cover (you may need to remove the front panel also)
  1. inspect the twenty or so pins of the fl display tube especially the end ones (resolder if bad).
  2. if they all look good check for DC voltage on the end pins (20 to 30 volts)
be careful not to touch the transformer pins when unit is pluged in and the cover is off!

Dark display on Sony STR-DE597 receiver

Check for bad solder connections on the display itself. If none use a voltmeter and check dc voltage on the first and last pins of the display. should be about 20v dc. If you don't have the dc voltage check for a bad transistor or resistor in the power supply. It could also be other thing but this is where you should start.

This is not a reset. Most likely one or more transistors have shorted and need to be replaced. Does the front display come on OK?
