I need to get tghe install software for a teac cd-224e rom drive. i removed the unit to repair the door and now the pc doesn't recognise it

No drivers are necessary. Check if the unit is properly connected (power and data cable).

Teac Dw 224E-R WONT BURN ON A DVD - Is it a DVD Writer?

hi no its only a CD RW, and not a CD/DVD-RW its just a CD writer and a dvd( rom )..read only memory which means it only reads dvd's but does not write them...hope this helps

My TEAC DW-224E-B Combo does not burn!

It is only compatable for CD RW.
Not DVD RW.

Can't burn data

if it is burning audio and video format it mean the burning is all right, u must choose some other application for burn data cd, like nero burning rom or alcohol etc.

Teac dw-224e-a dvd rom will not read dvd +r -rw data

Here's the newest driver for your burner. Go to Control Panel, then Device Manager, then click on the + symbol next to disk drives, and double click on the TEAC device. Click the Driver tab and press Update Driver, then choose the 'Let me find the driver' option, and navigate to the folder where you unzipped the file to. Double click and Install. Reboot.

For burning, I would recommend Nero, Alcohol 120% or ImgBurn.

TEAC DW-224E dvd/cd drive

first go to device manager : right click on my computer-properties-hardware- clcik on "device manager" look for a yellow hazard asterisk, this indicates a problem, if you right click on the device and select properties, you are presented with a troubleshoot facility also a means of updating your driver.....if this fails, go to google and type in the type/number of the device and you will be able to find free drivers to download.

Try this but be careful to find the exact key as not to do damage!

Start Registry Editor (Start, Run and type in regedit then click)

Find "UpperFilters" and "LowerFilters" (and "UpperFilters.bak" "LowerFilters.bak", if they exist) value under the following key in the registry, and delete it:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Quit Registry Editor.

Reboot.

NOTE: You might need to reinstall any CD recording apps you have, if they start to not work completely, after doing this.

Toshiba TEAC CD-224E BA - not playing CDs at all

Just replace the drive - the Teac CD-224E is housed in the SelectBay housing and any Teac CD-224E that came out of Toshiba will do. eBay would be your best bet. If you pay more than $10 then you must be a tourist...

I just had this problem! I am definately not a computer person but have just spent hours looking on the internet for an answer...
