The heatsink and fan vents are probably dusty, preventing optimum cooling of the processor. Ideally, the case needs to be opened, heatsink removed, fan and vents cleared of dust. Apply thermal grease to the processor and replace heatsink.

I have a NEC v300w projector it works fine for 2 to 3 minutes then it automatically shut down lamp fan every thing us fine and after shutdown red led blinks every 2.5 sec some one please tell me how to...

In some such equipment, there could be a problem of overheating of some component or assembly and due to overheating, there might be some sensor which is as a safety measure keeping the equipment off. I had seen some such equipment which stopped working when overheated but worked again when the temperature was normal. My experience belongs to the time when there was nothing like shutdown and we had to manually off the overhead projectors. Anyway, one can check for excessive heating at places and then doubt a particular part of the projector which may require replacement.

How can I fix thermal shutdown of Acer b1-730?

Could be the CPU needs new thermal paste and reseating.this is usually a fail safe designed to protect the computer when the CPU is getting too hot.also check the cooling fan ......blocked vents as this may also cause overheating issues thus not cooling the internals which will activate thermal shutdown.

Why does my Samsung rv520 shut down after 30 min

have you checked the auto shutdown timer? this will shutdown computer after Xmins of inactivity, you can find in your control panel settings under auto shutdown somewhere. Alternatively could be that it's overheating, so check the airvents are free from dust build up, do not use laptop on a bed or cushion, use only on a flat surface otherwise vents may get blocked. Can you hear your fan working? it should get louder the longer you stay on or when the computers CPU is under a heavy load, if you can't hear the fan whirling away check your fan settings and maybe change them to kick in earlier, you can sometimes get a utility to alter the fan settings in relation to CPU temp = Fan speed %, i think speedfan does this but check your own control panel and see if you have any settings to tweak your fan. Speedfan should tell you what your CPU temp is and allow you to figure out if it is the CPU overheating which is causing the shutdown in which case you need to either get a fan tweak utility or better fan or clean those vents! good luck...

MY COMPUTER SHUTDOWN WHILE IT HAS A 60%REMAINING BATTERY. UNEXPECTED SHUTDOWN. MY LAPTOP CANT RESUME THE PROGRAMS RUNNING AND UNSAVED DOCUMENTS AFTER THE UNEXPECTED SHUTDOWN HAPPENS ..WHY MY OTHER LAPTOP...

If the Computer restarts randomly, then the issue might be due to any damaged Operating System Files.
But, if the Computer shuts down randomly, it is due to the Processor.
All the Processors will be designed in such a way that, if there is any overheating issues, the Computer will shut down randomly.
The overheating might occur due to the malfunction of the Cooling Fan in the Computer.
As this is a overheating issue, it would be better to get the Unit examined at the Service Center.
Replacing the Cooling Fan in the Computer should resolve the issue.

Shut down with no reason

It could be a overheating problem.Check the power supply.Or it could be a hardware problem may be the motherboard.I think you require a PC Tech to check the system completely.

Keeps turning itself off. Reckon its an overheating issue.

LCD TV turning itself off is not necessarily overheating.
Often, because of a faulty component, capacitors can accumulate electrostatic charge until an error is detected, or a fault condition can last for a while, until a problem is detected, and the protection circuit will force the TV to shutdown.
The only temp sensor that can shut down because of overheating is placed on the main board, and TV shutdown after a while is often not caused by overheating on LCDs.
Parts that often cause shutdown after a time are Power Supply Unit, Inverter, and main controller board. Parts must be tested to find the fault. The technician can follow the diagrams detailed on service manual to find the fault.

I HAVE P5RD1-VM ASUS BOARD NOW COMPUTER STARTED PROBLEM

Hi,

several reasons for this.

1:) CPU Overheating.
2:) RAM Overheating.
3:) Motherboard Component Overheating.
4:) FAN not operating correctly.

These are a few things that can shutdown a computer after a few minutes, also viruses/trojans et,c.
can shut off hard-drives. and even instruct the bios to change settings.

Check that the CPU And case fans work correctly.

Always shutdown my IBM ThinkPad A21m 2628 PC Notebook

It must be a processor overheating problem, check the vents are not restricted and if the fan is always on or never comes on because of a faulty temp setting then theres a overheating problem and the processor will shut down before any damage.
