Test mode? Do you mean Service Mode and you turn on the solenoid for the water valve to divert water to the Fabric dispenser reservoir and it is flushed in Service Mode? See if this solution will help with your trouble shooting. Let me know if I can help……Rich
Most likely the fabric soft dispenser is clogged . this happens when you wash alot in cold water the left over fabric softner get very pasty and can clog it up. You can try filling the dispenser with hot water and run a cycle with hot water this should unclog the dispenser .
I had this same problem. I found a repair manual online and found out how to get into Service Test Mode. There is a test (t12) for the dispenser motor/mechanise. Running this test basically just runs water through each of the dispenser compartments (prewash, wash, bleach, fabric softner). All ran fine - no error codes. I continued to run the test on the fabric softner dispenser repeatedly and after 5-10 cycles it started draining properly. I think a tube (or valve or opening) was just clogged with the built up softner. I also put some vinegar in the compartment a time or two just to clean out any residue. Be careful with the Service Test Mode - read directions carefully - the manual warns that if you don't get out of it corretly that it can lock up you washer.
In the back of the dispenser is a button / lever to press down to remove the entire dispenser. Remove it and take off the cover over the fabric softener / bleach chambers. You may find some junk under the cups in that cover, or in the tubes sticking up through the bottom of the dispenser.
The way this thing works is like this: You fill up the dispenser with the liquid, but that liquid doesn't get up to the top of the tubes. When it's time to dispense, the washer adds water to the appropriate chamber, raising the level to above the tube. The liquid then goes down the tube, creating a suction which (ideally) draws the rest of the liquid up into the cup, over the edge of the tube, and down the dispenser. The washer will add water several times to accomplish this. The system isn't perfect, but it usually works with few moving parts.
If the fabric softener is especially thick, it will have a hard time getting siphoned down through the tube. If it looks as thick after the wash as it did before the wash, the machine isn't adding the water to the cup. I believe on the Frigidaire, there's a separate valve (all part of the same valve assembly) for each dispenser chamber. If it isn't adding the water, you'll have to replace the whole valve assembly.
fabric softener goes into the dispenser. it may be a full blown solenoid valve -or- a flapper type of solenoid valve. operation of the solenoid operates a flapper to let the softener out. go to an appliance repair site to find the solenoid - appliance parts dot com or repair clinic dot com.
I have the exact same problem. However the bleach dispenser has ruined colored clothes by dispensing leftover bleach from the previous white wash on colored clothes. i have had many parts replaced to no avail. Maytag has just agreed to buy back the washer for the full purchase price and replace it with a Maytag or Whirlpool product of my choice. I hope I have better kuck this time.
cleaned with hot water and bleach
