Display blank My clock and temperature display gradually got dim and is now completely blank. Can you tell me if the display needs replacing or could it be another cause. Thanks.

Mine is starting to experience the same thing. The clock is very light and the temperature display is barely visible. Have just started troubleshooting with no progress so far.

My temp doesn't show up at all and the clock is barely visible. Is there a recall on it since there are a few people with the same problem.

Would not expect a clock display to ever fail. three months ago ours started to dim and is getting dimmer by the day. Appreciate knowing fix other than replacing whole unit.

I have had the same problem but have this question.. How do you get the part and how do you know how to replace it?? I took the panel off lastnight to see if it was simply a fuse or something.. I have had the manual sent to me, I have called Jenn Air and they are NO HELP whatsoever.. Oven works great but the digital readout has simply faded away.. HELP!!!!

Have had same problem. Oven works, but I can't see what I'm entering, or the oven temp., etc. anymore. My friend has the same problem with her oven. Do we need to get new electronic clock controls at over $150 for parts alone??

  • Richauds Aug 05, 2008

Looks like ours is doing the same Model JJW9530CAAW - can't read the serial #, as it's blocked by a mounting strip. We've had it six years, so I'm assuming it's an out of pocket expense!

We bought our house a year ago and the oven came with it, it is a great oven, but it the clock and temp recently started fading. Where do I get this panel to fix it and is this something I should be doing or does it really require a professional?

The unit is easy to replace but is there a way to tell if it is the light unit or the power supply unit? I have and can not get any wiring diagram to see what the voltage is supposed to be.

Every time I have seen this problem, it has been a bad display assembly. These are fairly easy to change yourself, but the part is kind of expensive, I think in the $150-$200 range. Hope this helps!

I talked to Jenn Air and they did state a reason that seems reasonable. It is not the display assembley that is the problem but the design. The HEAT causes the display assembley to malfunction. Jenn-Air has added a cooling fan between the baking area and the display assembley in the newer models. You may have to keep replacing the display assembley about every two years if use the oven a lot in the older models. Yuck!

Hi i have a de-dietrich dod338 oven but ive found the light on the clock is very dim yet if i have a power cut and when i reset the power trip again its bright but as soon as i try to set the time it goes...

i had this problem also - it is the timer assembly. you can replace the timer assembly as a whole, or if you're useful with a soldering iron, replace the capacitor which is right next to the digital display. the display gets warm and this gradually breaks the capacitor. I replaced this - it was about £3 from rs components (the capacitance and other info is printed on the side of the capacitor). Hope this helps - i bought a replacement main board and clock assembly ( which got lost in the post so i tried to fix it in the mean-time while the replacement was sent out.) obviously don't do this fix if you are not confident, but that was the fix for my problem which is the same symptoms as yours.

Double oven (WW30430B) got the similar display dim/disappear prob

If you haven't already, replace the capacitors on the clock module. I had the same problem with a similar oven. See this link for more info:

My clock and temperature display is dim

Hi, this will happen over a period of time and its just heat related. the control panel isn't insulated properly and , there has been a larger than normal transfer of heat to the inside of the control panel where the circuits are housed.

If this is a problem, i recommend replacing the control board. it will fix the dim issue.

No digital display oven works

We own a Jenn-Aire model W27400W oven. The display module has gradually gone dim over a period of several months prior to the end of the warranty, and the display is no longer visible. It is apparent that several Jenn-Aire oven models use the same display. Does Anyone else have the same problem, and If so, are they willing to join a class-action suit against Jenn-Aire with us?
