Hourly Chime Announcement On and Off.

Hourly Announcement (Chime) ON/OFF
(When Chime is ON, the watch announces the HOUR every Hour)

1. Hold the 8 o'clock button while the watch is in the real time mode for more than 5 seconds until the watch says "Set alarm, Press 10 o'clock button to set."
2. Push 8 o'clock button 2 more times, until the watch says "Chime ON/OFF, Press 10 o'clock button to set."
3. Press the 10 o'clock button.
4. The watch says, "Press 2 o'clock button to turn ON, 4 o'clock button to turn OFF, 8 o'clock button to confirm.
5. To turn OFF a Chime Alert, Press 4 o'clock button. To turn ON a Chime Alert, Press 2 o'clock button.
6. Press 8 o'clock button to confirm.
7. After a Chime alert is turned ON, the watch will announce the HOUR every one hour.

Electronic failure. If you like the grinder, plug it into a plug-in timer that only allows it to run when YOU want it to run. I have a timer like that on my coffeemaker so we don't forget to turn it off & let it run empty all day long. There are cheap timers available that will turn on for three hours if you push a little button, then shut off until next time you push the button. VERY handy, and they give you a selection of one hour, three hours, or six hours. For your purpose, one hour sounds fine. Or a wind-up type timer that stays on for only fifteen minutes, just long enough to grind coffee. Or unplug it when you're done. Or put it on a power strip with a switch.

That being said, if your timer has a dial with 2 4 6 8, then following instructions probably apply:

Timer turns on automatically at dusk,
Rotate dial to select when timer will turn off.
In your case, rotate dial to 6, and then timer will turn off 6 hours later.

Make sure to keep timer turned away from lights, or where car lights might reach photo-eye located on front of timer.
If timer is exposed to light, it will turn OFF, and then blink back ON few minutes later.
When timer turns ON again, the 6 hour countdown starts over.

To set for ON at dusk, and off 8 hours later, rotate dial to the number 8.
Timer turns on automatically at dusk.
Timer set to 8 hours will start countdown when timer turns ON > and 8 hours later timer will turn off.

Make sure timer is turned away from lights so photo-eye doesn't receive feedback.
Feedback is when the photo eye gets too much light, and then timer thinks it's dawn, so lights turn off, and a moment later photo eye thinks it's dusk again and lights turn on again.
Feedback from lights will cause timer to reset the 8 hour countdown.
A car pulling in the driveway can cause feedback.
If the timer resets because of feedback, it begins the 8 hour countdown again, so the lights will not turn off until dawn.

You can test timer by putting black tape over photo eye, and then timer will turn on.
Set timer for 2 hours for example and then check if timer turned off 2 hours later.

If timer is not functioning correctly, then timer is defective.

3. Press the up arrow to set how many hours until you want the machine to turn ON. If you have pressed the button for more hours than you wanted then press the down arrow to lower the number of hours.
4. After you have stopped pressing the arrow buttons the display will return to the original display showing temperature and relative humidity.
5. After the above steps are completed the dehumidifier will turn ON in the number of hours that you have set (programmed).

Timer turns on automatically at dusk unless you set override feature shown below

Timing cycle repeats each 24 hours
Use selector button to set timer
Timer must be reset after power outage or after unplugging timer.
Push selector button and choose one of following

F > Lights are OFF
O > Constant ON
1 through 9 > timer turns ON at dusk and turns OFF 1 to 9 hours later
d > timer turns ON at dusk and OFF at Dawn
1. through 9. > timer turns ON immediately and then turns OFF 1 to 9 hours later

From these instructions, you should push button until 6 displays. Timer will turn ON at dusk and turn OFF 6 hours later
If timer.
If you want timer to turn ON immediately and turn OFF 6 hours later, push button until 6. shows in display.

If timer does not display or does not operate correctly, then timer is suspect. Return timer for another one.

I got it on high for 1 hour and then reset it to low for 7 more hours and everything appears to be fine. I suspect that this crock pot runs at a little higher temperature. The *low* setting seems as hot as my older crockpot on high...... With this crock pot - set the hours while turned off with the right button and then turn it on. You may have to play with it several times to get the proper heat setting. As I said, I could only keep on it *high* for 1 hour.
