When u want to burn a file inside a CD/DVD.... It depends on the file you are burning... But before burning to nero 8, you use follow the option given to you... if it still doesn't work...... you try nero 9, if it still doesnt work... then you should try the local way which is copy the file and paste it on the CD/DVD disk

DVD Writing Problem

The specs on your PC can be found by clicking here. From what I read on this page, you can record CDs, but only read DVDs. So, to burn DVDs, you would need to purchase and install a DVD burner. They are pretty inexpensive right now, so if someone in your area is handy with PC stuff, they could install one within 10 minutes for you.

Burned DVDs play on PC but won't play on home player. I have 3 PC (2HPs and 1 Parts built),running XP home, pro, media. I bought 2 Samsung SH-S182 DVD±RW Dual Layer Burner, and have tried them on all 3...

Nero 6 and 7 does not provides us the facilitiy of burning the DVD in appropriate DVD Format. Instead it burns the DVD in the normal DATA Format, which is not supportable by our DVD Player. To play the DVD in our DVD Player we should burn the DVD in the appropriate DVD Burner which itself converts the extension of the movie and make it proper for a DVD Player to read it. It also adds some files to the DVD which is sometimes used by the dvd player in running the DVD.

PROBLEM BURNING DVDS

First thing would be to test to see if you can burn a data dvd with Nero. If you can, than its not a problem with the drive. If your burner can't burn a regular data dvd, return it. If it can, then it is very likely the software you are usuing. Nero can't burn copyrighted dvds at all. If you havne't tried copying other dvds than you should definatly do that. No software, at least that I'm aware of can can copy every dvd, different dvds use different encryptions, and they are coming out with new methods it seems like all the time. I would recommend Dvd Shrink and Clone Dvd. I have not been able to copy every dvd I have, but I have been able to backup the ones I really need backuped.
