My 56" samsung dlp will turn on and display a picture from anywhere from 30 seconds to 10 min. It will then shut down picture going down first then sound. All 3 display lights will flash and then create a buzzing sound and attempts to turn back on and off but isn't working. I have replaced the lamp but it's still having the same problem. any help????
Your keeping a part that is warming up and shuts down your shutdown that protects the tv from burning up... cooler... to find this you might need a hair dryer or a can of freeze mist.
I believe the left side is your high-voltage section.
you can also let it warm-up without the fan .. let it shut down and feel parts with set unplugged to see what is running hot.

Here is Fan part#

Light engine assembly has to be removed. This involves unplugging various connectors between processing/control chassis on the left side and engine assembly on the right side. Mounting screws on the top and bottom of engine assembly. Then remove light engine assembly completely from the TV. Fan#2 is the lamp cooling fan and is located beside the lamp assembly.
It is not too complicated if you draw a picture of where all the plugs are removed from. If one plug is not put back correctly, unit will not work. Usually a tight fight sliding out the engine. Plastic cable tie-down between the 2 assemblies can be cut and discarded, this makes re-installing light engine considerably easier.
Cheat the cabinet safety switch with tape or stretch connecting wire across it to hold it in "on" position for test after reassembly.
Service cost may be $150-$200 if you don't do it yourself. We do it in most Canada cities.

I had a similar problem. Mine had something to do with the fan not coming on to cool off the ?bulb or board or whatever. I put a small fan behind the tv which worked for the short time. After researching, I decided it was the door that goes to the lamp that somehow had miraculously moved by itself to where it didnt seat properly. You can't tell by looking at it on the outside, but when you open the door, there is a little tiny arm on the left that has to be in a perfect alignment. Otherwise the TV thinks the door is open and the fan won't come on, and it shuts itself off so it doesn't overheat. Stupid TV-ha Anyway, that fixed it. Good luck!
Yes, the Color Wheel would be the only thing left. I am not sure about this exact model but the Color Wheel in other Samsung models are replaceable.
Hope this helps,

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electro-medical.blogspot.com/ http://homenol.blogspot.com/ http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device, in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.
Look for the computer processor inside the TV. It needs to be cleaned. A can of compressed air will work. The processor is overheating and causing the tv to shut off. Look for the small fan that is supposed to keep the processor cool then remove the dust.
Identifying the correct lamp code
Before placing an order online, you must identify which lamp code you need.
The lamp code is located usually on the left side of the TV
Pix looks like a light pipe issue, inside the Light Engine. as far as the shutting down, could be a bad fan causing the grinding and when stopps the DMD turns the set off.
