Sounds like The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

There is not a lamp timer to reset on this model TV

Hi,

This kind of symptoms is an indication of faulty either the actuator board or the thermal fuse(sensor).
First check the resistance of the thermal fuse (it is mounted in small board at the top of the lamp housing), it should be shorted(0 ohms), if you dont have a multemeter, install jumper across the terminal of the thermal fuse and try to power on the unit. If the unit power up, replace the thermal fuse, if not replace the actuator board.

did you install the correct color wheel? Most of the samsungs had retooled bearings in some color wheels and often a jumper has to be installed for the color wheel to work properly. Your wheel should be a BP96-01103A another thing that can happen is the thin brown ribbon cable can get plugged in backwards and will prevent the color wheel from working also. That ribbon only has contacts on one side of the ribbon. I would double check that if the correct color wheel was received for your model.

hi have you been checked the fan, if it is not working the dmd board will shut down. at the same time check the lamp ballast if their is a shorted it will cause a shut down. hope this will help you just give response if it works good day thanks.

If the noise is a high pitched whine or even a grinding sound you may have a bad color wheel.

These fail quite often in these sets although it is unusual for a lamp to be associated with it. Put old lamp back and see if same problem. (unless old lamp is shattered)

If it is the color wheel I can tell you how to look at it to see if shattered without taking the set completely apart.

Replace your Lamp 1-800-628-1118

This usually indicates that the color wheel, ballast or power supply board is failing. I would suggest calling 1-800-samsung to find the nearest service center. You can waste a lot of money trying to figure this one out on your own.

could be a bad colorwheel, if its like r roaring sound,if it a buzzing sound check the lamp

Most likely what you are hearing is the color wheel that is making all the noise. You would be able to tell by removing the back and checking all the fans first. but the sound of the fans usually comes on just before the color wheel starts up.

If its DLP replace Lamp

The color wheels will never fix an issue like that. The only things that will cause that issue is a bad DMD board which is part of the light engine or the digital board which is not. Freak Squad need to replace the digital board.

Did you use a generic replacement? Many TVs have a dark picture after replacing the original lamp with a generic. The other issue I've encountered are TVs that have been exposed to cigarette smoke will develop a dark, discolored picture over a relatively short time.

Pix looks like a light pipe issue, inside the Light Engine. as far as the shutting down, could be a bad fan causing the grinding and when stopps the DMD turns the set off.
