GE 2200 Dishwasher-no power at all, circuit breakers are fine, switch works

All of the sudden one day I close my dishwasher and the lights don't come on. I tried turning off the breaker for a while, but nothing changed. I used an Ohm meter to test the door switch, which seems fine, but that's about the limit of my electrical abilities.

Thanks, i do have a voltage meter that lights up with live power. I tried and found power in the bottom panel, found it going into the door switch, after pressing the switch the power flowed through some little cylindars, then into the main circuit board. I also see the power popping up at various places on the circuitboard (the little black square towers, in particular). But that's the end of the trail. The display still doesn't come on and the buttons don't work. It's not a new house, 17 years old, and the dishwasher worked fine at least the last 4 years I've lived here. Not sure when it was installed.

With your volt/ohm meter check for power going to the dishwasher. the power supply is located under the kick panel. the power wire may be shorted out due to poor installation. if you are not comfortable testing power, I would advise calling a professional. If no power is found at the power box (this has a power cord or electrical wire going to it) the problem lies within your house electric. if 120 volts is present, check for power @ the door switch. aftrer that you just need to follow the power wire and see where it stops
If this is a newly built house and new to you the builder may have put a light switch above your counter ,the one you didn't think went to anything, check for that! good luck with it!

since you have 120 volts going to the board there is only a few more things to check. first I would try to find the tech sheet, usually you can find it behind the kick plate or between the door panel, I think if you open the door remove the screws the inner panel will pick up. the tech sheet will help you put the unit in diagnostics. most likly you will need a control board or contol panel. these parts aren't cheap and generaly non-returnable. if you can't get the unit diagnostics following the proper steps you will need to replace one or both of the control parts

No power to dishwasher

Do the following:
  1. Check the power from the wall outlet or the branch circuit itself.
  2. Check for a blown fuse or a tripped circuit breaker.
  3. Check the wiring connections of the dishwasher from the house wiring.
  4. Check the door switch. Remove the control panel cover or the interior liner of the door whenever it is applicable. Replace if defective.
  5. Check the timer or selector switch. replace if defective.

The water doesn't stay at the bottom of Dishwasher & The detergent doesn'e get totaly emptied out from detergent Tray. It looks like the the residue remain in the Dishwasher & On Dishes too. Please, help...

hi there,
no indication that machine is not working,is there any power supply, check the power source, circuit breaker switch on.

Step 1: Check to make sure it's receiving power. If the unit plugs into a wall outlet, check the cord, the plug, and the outlet to make sure they're functioning properly. Also check the switch that controls the outlet to make sure it's turned on. Most built-in dishwashers are wired directly into a circuit. Check the main entrance panel for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker, and restore the circuit. If your home is an older one, the dishwasher may be wired to a separate entrance panel; look for a blown fuse or breaker at this panel, and restore the circuit.

Step 2: If the circuit is receiving power, and the wall outlet is controlled by a switch, the switch may be faulty. Test the switch with a voltage tester. Take off the switch cover plate and place one probe of the tester on one terminal and the other probe on the other terminal. If the tester bulb lights, the switch is functioning. If it doesn't light, the switch is faulty. Replace the switch with a new one of the same type.
this should be done by appliance technician, but if you have knowledge on this check it out.regads have a nice day, dont forget to rate me thank's

Two days ago my LG dishwasher model lDF 7810BB worked fine. Yesterday I loaded it and the display panel will not light nor show any sign of power. I check the circuit breaker several times and all other...

Check for voltage with a multimeter at the wires very near the front, just behind the kick plate. Follow the incoming electrical wire in and remove the little plate the covers the wires/wire nuts. I have seen wires that appear to be connected properly but the circuit is open.
Or, even though the circuit breaker is not switched open, the circuit itself, supplied to the front of the dishwasher is not live/hot.
Good Luck!

Dishwasher has no power. Running fine 'til this point...

Hi Dave
Make sure that with power off you check the interlock switch. When the door closes the actuator closes the switch(s) to continue power. Make sure that door strike is entering the latch assembly ok when the door is closed. Also with the circuit breaker off, make sure the wires at the junction box are in order. Here is the interlock switch assembly. Good Luck!!!!!!!!

GE Triton not working

Jitterbugclu-
I may have the solution. Husband just turned off power to dishwasher via circuit breaker. Waited around 30 minutes.
Restored power and Triton came back with normal lights.
I just ran a cycle and all was well. Hope this helps you.
My fingers are crossed because I don't know what happened but did read on another site that this should be the first thing you try before expen$ive repairman.
Reply back if it works!

Dishwasher stopped working..!!..!! please help

Hi crystal245,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

Your problem is: GE Nautilus Dishwasher suddenly stopped working. NOTHING!! it was fine one day then went kaput the next. I checked the plug in and the circuit breaker but still NOTHING

I run into this often. Ends up being loose, broken or burnt ellectrical connection in d/w junction box most of the time. It's under the d/w behind the kick plate on the right or center. Turn the power off first and remove the wire nuts. Replace wire nuts and/or repair wire ends as nessessary. Beyond that you're looking at a bad control board or failed connection in the unit.
