Stalled in traffic acted like it was out of gas. Started again in about 20 min. ran for about 2 miles and stalled again. Checked fuel pump connection and no electrical power. Checked relay and found that it had no ground. Jumped relay to ground and it started and ran. I drove it about 20 miles last night with the only problem being it would cut out under extreme acceleration. Today I cleared the the P0306 code (misfire on cylinder 6) which really didn't apply. After clearing the code the car won't start.I can hear the relay making contact but no fuel pump sound or power. Fuel pump fuse is ok.

Yes, there is fuel pump relay, which is generally located on the passenger side kick panel. But in your case, the fuel pump relay on 2002 model Xterra is indeed located under the
dash around the steering wheel, but no you don't need to remove the
cover just lay in floor and you can see it, it will slide off a bracket
and you can remove and replace it.
Good Luck!

Hello,
When the MAF on most vehicles reach a point of preventing the engine from starting, you can usually just unplug it and the engine will start. If that doesn't work-
You may want to try having the O2 sensor, ( Oxygen sensor ), checked. It works with other components of the emission system and can cause similar symptoms as the MAF, including preventing the engine from starting.

Testimonial: "Other similar issues are the cam position sensor, which is located inside the distributor. It's easier to just replace the distributor."
