T v was turned off by accident...the same time i hit remote to turn it back on...someone else hit button on front of tv ..now just comes on and shuts right back off

First turn on device to be programmed. Press what device you want to program (tv) hold it down and at the same time hold power button down. Wait for red light to shut off and come back on. When light comes on remove finger device button and continue to hit power button on & off until device shuts off. Then hit stop button on the bottom off remote.

Some tvs have a sleep timer on it and if it is accidently programmed the tv will turn off at a certain time. You may want to look at the users manual for more info. Or call a local place that fixs tv's for some more input before paying someone or getting a new tv. I had a tv once and it did the same think. I had to get into the menu with the remote and figure it out it had something to do with a set sleep timer so the tv would shut off at a certain time if the timer was set. Have you tried to push the tv input button? Sometimes when a button is buy accident it changes the input on the tv. Hope this works, let me know.

Hey with remote up to my knowledge there is no such serious problems ...

go to the user manual and reset the remote

There should be a tv vcr button on the remote control. What you done was you accidently shut off the VCR function. If you hit that button again the tv vcr button it will come back on.

When hubby moved the tv around, he accidently butted it up against our Bose Speaker, thus pressing in one or two buttons ont he tv. Moved and speaker, and voila, the problem was solved.

First try turning the TV on from the Power button the set itself (assuming it has one).

If not, unplug the TV from the wall, wait a half hour, then plug it back in. It should come back on.

Also check that none of the buttons on the remote are stuck down, and that the batteries in the remote are OK. The toy might've stuck a repeating button down (like volume) which may have then drained the remote's batteries.

First of all, forget about the remote and see if the TV functions normally using the buttons on the front of the set itself. If the TV will not power on with the power button on the set itself, then something is wrong inside the TV. If the set works fine from the front buttons but no longer responds to that remote, then the remote has either gone bad or was accidently set to a different brand. In this case, look for the original book that came with the remote (or TV if it is the original remote) and follow the instructions for setting the remote back to Zenith. Try that and post your results here.

EPROM DEFECTIVE

On your remote should be a button called TV caption or text. Turn off the closed caption as someone hit it and turned it on by accident. If its not on your remote, then it is in the menu. Good Luck Ps Please dont forget to rate this thread.
