Frigidaire Chest 5 cu ft Making Fan noise & will not turn on...6 yrs old.

Someone please help us to figure out why our chest freezer/frigidaire 5 cu ft small chest today , this morning started making a loud fan noise like it needed WD40 but then when we turned the temp dial down to off and back on it stopped then slowly started again. Then within moments I turned it to 2 on the dial and the fan stopped but a couple hours later no noise and it wont come back on after being shut off completely?
We took all of our food out of it and are upset completely , it was bought at LOWES back in 2002 and is practically new hardly used. Always been on and on temp #6 to 7!

At 6 years old it certainly aint new!
from what you describe, sounds like a compressor fault

Just got a used 5.0 frigidaire chest freezer and noticed that it is starting to frost at the top but water is starting to pool at the bottom. any help would be appreciated

Good day,
The interior walls should frost evenly. If you only get a partial frosting pattern then either you have a refrigerant leak or a restriction in the refrigerant lines.
Either problem would be considered a terminal failure in a chest freezer.

Unit runs continually with gurgling sounds

defrost fully once a year or more if you notice it frosting up.it should run at minus 18c to 20 c for best results. 0f is fine.gurgling noise is normal (liquid turning to gas before compressor turns it back to liquid).make sure door seals all round and the kids close the door asap after use......also if you portion up food prior to freezing and vacpack it it will last longer.and be easier to store/rotate.

Is your circulating fan working?
Sometimes they stick and need a shot of WD 40 and then work
it back and forth a little until it wants to take off again. Keep me informed
and PLEASE give a Thumbs Up for the effort. The Raz Shack

After being unplugged for one year, my Frigidaire 5 cu. ft. / 142 liter Chest Freezer FFC05M0A turns on, but does not get cold. What is the problem?

It's probable that you've lost refrigerant in the cooling system. Unfortunately, leaks in those systems can be hard to find so check your warranty to see if the labor is still covered.

Frigidaire Chest Freezer Door Insulation smells like fish

might sound stupid but take the cover off the compressor electrics and make sure no plastic is overheating.

Compressor Stopping

compressor is running overloaded possible problems bad relay/overload /capacitor dirty or clogged condensers if the unit uses a condenser fan suspect a bad fan. and defective thermostats are notorious for short cycling. id check the coils first and if dirty clean up maybe that can be the major problem.
