Fogging problem (i.e.) screen is foggy at start up but clears 20 to 30 mins use.

The Sony TV is NOT completely defective. The image projected is just not clear. We have had this problem before and our resolution was to wait for the image to clear up. This took about 20-30 minutes time and all are normal.

Please check model number and brand name at rear side of tv. There would be label / sticker for model and brand of product.

I have a sonny rear proction tv its very foggy the piture

Three things you need to do:

1) Take the back cover off and clean the:
a) Mirror with glass cleaner
b) The dust that collected on top of the CRT lenses

2) With tv unplugged, use a flashlight and look down the lense of the blue, green CRTs. There is fluid in there. If the fluid is not clear, then it needs to be replaced and the tv re-aligned. Not recommended for anyone without experience.

Cloudy fluid is typically indicated by a foggy picture. THis is assuming you have a standard 3 CRT rear projection TV.

My sony projection tv is foggy and misty

It sounds like your lenses, mirror and screen needs cleaned from the inside. I have a tip at http://www.fixya.com/support/r4690955-clean_lense_screen_in_projection_tv which wll explain the process and walk you through it.

Thanks for using FixYa and for the generous rating.

I have a philips projection tv, there is a green hald circle at the bottom of the screen also the picture has double images and very yellow and red. I just bought this from someone who keeps telling me its...

It sounds like multiple problems. First of all these sets are famous for bad coolant between the tubes and lenses causing the picture to be degraded causing the foggy picture. The fluid can be changed to clear up the halo's. The double images are convergence issues. Most likely both convergence amps need to be replaced. I hate to say it but it sounds like you got a money pit. Good luck. Thanks for using fixya.

JVC AV-48WP30 foggy image

Check convergence adjust screen after picture distorts.

Description sounds like shading from a defective convergence circuit. If you replaced STK392-110 with 150, then re-install new 110's, or new 150's and re-design the circuit and change low-ohm resistor values to compensate for different IC's. It is not the same as a brighter light bulb.

Sony 65 inch screen tv

The lines you saw, i;m sure they are the ones called retrace lines but know the failure could be located on the red CRT board. Most likely the video amplifier is defective and not necessarily the CRT.
What is the model number of your TV?

Green flashes

It is a defective green CRT and most likely the red and blue will need to be replaced as well. This was a known issues with this year of Sony projection TV's.
