SOURCE: I have an HD PVR

Depending on your tv output, you shpuld be able to hook your TV to receiver via audio output. Running your video components through your receiver will not give you the best performance anyway. Run your HD DVR to TV the way you have it then, if it's possible to run audio out from TV, via, RCA, digital optical, etc., to your receiver. The sound will be transfered through the TV. You may also be able to utilize component out from your HD DVR and a separate audio cable.

Well, one of the solutions would be a universal remote control.
The way amplifiers usually work is such that the volume needs to be adjusted on the amplifier and not the source (TV in your case).
If you can give me more information on the model of your amp I might be able to prove die you with another solution.

CAN I HOOK THIS UP TO HD TV FEED WITH A PVR

If your PVR has an Optical Output then you will be able to hook that to your SONY DAV-S300. If it does not you will just be able to use the standard analog stereo connections. I included a picture of the Optical port on your SONY DAV-S300.
