It's possible that you have accidentally switched off the sub-woofer outputs on the receivers. Onkyo have a speaker set up test. You should run that and see if the speakers are on and that a signal is getting through to them.

My onkyo subwoofer does not turn on the green ligth is not on, what could it be? is a swk-200

My Onkyo S/W did the same thing untill I unplugged it from the surge protector that all the other A/V devices are plugged into. I plugged the sub into it's very own wall recepticle with it's very own new surge protector. Maybe cleaner power is the answer.

No sound coming out of my Onkyo SKW-200 subwoofer

A subwoofer is just really a mono amp for the signal. As with all amps if you touch the audio section/parts with a small screwdriver, you should hear a buzz from the speaker. (Follow the audio wires to be certain you are on the audio section). This can be used for testing the amp section. If you get no buzz or noise (anywhere) at all then it's power supply could be playing up. If you have a multimeter you can test it looking to see if it is getting power. Allways suspect any part that is on a heatsink. Before removing any suspect you can put the part numbers into Google to see if you can get them and it will give you a clue to cost.
PS don't short any parts when you touch with a screwdriver, and don't put it on the power parts.

Subwoofer issues

Hi,

The fuse blows when the current that passes through it are beyond its rating. This could be brought about by excessive consumption of the load, in this case the amplifier powering the sub-woofer.

Repairs would involve component level and require that you be familiar with electronic components and circuitry, use of a DVM and a soldering iron. Often it is just the finals that needs to be replaced. Of course we cannot discount the possibility of other components or section such as the power supply.

The smoke indicates something heating up such as a resistor or diode or a capacitor.

Should you be uncomfortable opening the unit and doing a DIY (do-it-yourself), then perhaps you need to seek the services of a qualified professional.

Should the downtime and cost of repair be no longer economically reasonable, purchase of a new unit might save you further trouble.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
