You might think about having the machine check to see if there is something wrong with the motherboard

SOURCE: Elna 6003Q Sewing Machine won't snap out of bobbin winding mode

I had the same problem and fixed it myself. Remove the portion of the housing that coincides with the bobbin winder. You will need to remove two screws to do this--one is just to the upper left of the bobbin winder itself, and one is hidden under the handle on the left side of the machine (lift the handle, and look on the machine on the left side.) It takes some coaxing to remove the housing, but it can be done--be gentle. If you need to, remove the housing on the left side of the machine that covers the needle assembly. This will make it a bit easier, but still, be gentle.)
After removing the housing, you will see a black metal piece with a elongated slot and a screw adjacent to the bobbin winder mechanism. Unscrew the screw a turn or two, and slide the piece to the other side. Tighten gently. Turn your machine on, and move your bobbin winder back and forth and watch the screen change from bobbin winding to the main straight stitch screen. Now, do a brief Dance of Joy. I hope this helps.

SOURCE: how do I raise the feeder feet

There is a slide switch on the underside of the back of the free-arm. The feed dogs will not immediately raise when you slide it, the machine must make a full rotation for it to engage.

SOURCE: feed dogs Elna

slide the accessory case off; locate the feed dog lever on the back of the free arm. Slide the lever either to the right (down) or to the left (up).

SOURCE: Elna 6003 quilters dream isn't sewing properly.

This is the only one I could find and it is $10.00 http://www.mcssl.com/SecureCart/ViewCart.aspx?mid=F506721D-3C9E-481E-8B3F-7E1C3114072F&sctoken=0465a6a54d8e482581a12d868a00a3fb&bhcp=1

The reason for the jam could be the fabric is thick and this causes the foot to raise to the point the the tension is open that the top thread is feeding erratically.

Another could be the bobbin area needs to be cleaned.

Lastly, it could be the timing needs to be adjusted and this means a trip to the sewing machine dealer for service.

I am wanting to set my machine (quilters dream 6603) for the best basting stitch I can. I am having trouble figuring out how to set the machine. Thanks.

I haven't been able to find a 6003 manual or a good image of the stitch range for this machine on line. However, a basting stitch might look like " . _____ . _____. " on your stitch selector. As your machine is targeted for quilters I'd have expected it to have a basting stitch in its range.

If there is nothing like that, then just dial up the longest possible straight stitch, ie take length up to 4 or 5, whatever the maximum number is. Then loosen off the top and bottom tensions and stitch away.

If you are using this to baste a quilt top, botton and batting together, I've discovered a product called "spray basting" which is fantastic and "glues" the layers together while you sew them. You need a big clear floorspace though and put paper down under the project. But it works great.

Trust this is of help to you.

I have the Elna 6003 quilter's dream machine. The problem is that it is stuck in the "bobbin winding" mode and will not allow me to change stitches. I have tried turning it off and turning it...

Does this have a bobbin winder post and stop at the top right. If so, is the bobbin winding post moved back to normal position or up against the post?

Being computerised, if you have tried powering it down and all the settings are correct, then it might want a trip in the car to see the technician to sort out this fault.

Elna Quilter's Dream 6003 the machine is fine with

Hm, wondering if it could be the presser foot pressure setting. Most machines have this capability where the amount of pressure applied to the feed dogs can be increased or decreased. You might check your owner's manual,.
