BRAVIA TV KDL-40V2500

I have my TV connected thru a HDMI cable to my cable box. TV screen goes on-off for a few seconds. With the HDMI cable connected the sound goes off. Without the HDMI the sounds continue. I have tried to change the HDMI but the problem persists. Do you think this is something to do with an internal failure of the screen? This was purchased around 5 months ago.

Model Bravia KDL 32L504. Tv powers on, picture blinks for one second and blinks off again. Green power light remains on...no blinking. This happens with HDMI & cable box connected, same without. I tried power reset with no results. Can a software update be run with the TV in this condition? Or will that make any difference.

I had the same problem and the only way i could solve it was to disconnect power from the tv, let it "reset" then it would be ok for a bit. the problem went away entirely when the cable company updated its software for its hd box. might be coincidence....

also, pre-update, the resolution wouldnt automatically set correctly. If I turned on the tv to a hi def station, it would set to 480 and only set to 1080 when i changed to a normal station then back to the hd. then it was fine. again, after the update from the cable company this went away.

Sony BRAVIA KDL-40V2500 audio not working

I would Google the model number carefully for "problems" "no sound" and usually this set will display some kind of error code===it may even have a hard reset to try===service manuals are available on the net/web to allow you to see how the sound circuit is set up etc.

I'm trying to use my bravia as a computer monitor.

Your Bravia should have a 15 pin PC input, this input can take most standard PC resolutions, however if you a have a video card with an HDMI port, you should set your resolution to 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz refresh rate so that the signal can be recognized and processed, many standard PC video resolutions are not compatible with the HDMI inputs. You should not require audio cables unless you are using a DVI to HDMI connection.

BOSE 321 DVD movie movie picure is blue. Its connected to a Sony LCD digital Wide screen TV Bravia Model KDL 40V2500 and my cable box. Could it be a loose connection.

Sounds like you are using a component cable(red, green, blue) rather than an HDMI cable.

Component cables are fine to use but if one of the 3 cables is disconnected, loose or bad, you may see blue video.

Check for loose connections or bad cables and make sure the proper color is plugged into its matching color.

Periodic tv screen blackouts

The problem is your cable box. I know you said you replaced it, but I work on TV's everyday and, sorry to say this but cable box HDMI outputs have serious issues, like no or intermittent sound and video. I have seen customers exchange their cable boxes 5 and 6 times and still have the problem. Your best bet is to use the component outputs of your cable box, visually you will not see a picture difference between component and HDMI when using a cable box. Your other solution is to get satellite; I have NEVER seen an HDMI issue with a satellite box

TV not finding Digital Channels from Cable Box

I don't know where you're located but you may want to double check with Time Warner on the availibilty of an HD box. I have TWC with an HD tier package and have an HDMI out on the box that runs directly into HDMI on this TV. Hope that helps!
