If model number is correct WS55311 this set has a hidden menu (actually 3 of them) and one is the "Option" menu where you can do a hard reset of the set; it buts everything back to factory default.

It is done with a 4 digit code (I know depending on what model number is) and the original Mitsubishi remote has to be used for this.

Confirm actual model number and I will give that code to you.

Mitsubishi wd62526 tv has a passcode on it that i dont know ;so is there a way to change it or reset it

Bypassing the V-Chip Lock After you set the lock, you need your passcode to view a V-Chip locked program, view the locked TV, cancel the lock, or enter the V-Chip Lock menus. If you forget your passcode, you can view the locked TV without entering your passcode. This is done by pressing the number 9 and QV buttons on the TV remote control at the same time, when your passcode is requested. This process temporarily unlocks the TV. When entering the V-Chip Lock menu, this process deletes your old passcode and prompts you to enter a new passcode. Press HOME to exit the menu.

Bypassing Front Button Lock If you have misplaced the remote control, you can bypass the front button lock by pressing and holding the MENU button on the front panel for more than 8 seconds

Would you like to bypass, defeat or reset your Mitsubishi HDTV Parental V-Chip parental lock? Have you forgotten your V-Chip passcode or password?

If you forget your V-Chip passcode, you can view the locked TV without entering your password.

When your passcode is requested, press the number 9 and the QV button on the original TV remote control at the same time. This process temporarily unlocks your TV.

When you enter the V-Chip Lock menu, pressing the number 9 and the QV button on the original TV remote control at the same time will delete your old password and prompt you to enter a new passcode. Pressing HOME at this time will cancel the entire passcode.

I hope that helps.

Bypass V-Chip Mitsubishi TV

Bypassing the V-Chip Lock on most Mitsubishi sets:
Mitsubishi sets use a four-digit passcode that is required to view a V-Chip locked program, view the locked TV, cancel the lock, or enter the V-Chip lock menus.
If you don't have the passcode, it is easy to bypass. This is neccessary if you forgot the code, purchased the set used, or if you simply don't feel like searching through your files to find it.

To bypass the V-chip: You can view the locked shows by pressing the number 9 and QV buttons on the remote at the same time, whenever your passcode is requested. This process temporarily unlocks the TV.

To reset the code: When you use the button combination 9 and QV while entering the V-Chip Lock menu, this process deletes your old passcode and prompts you to enter a new passcode.

When changing or deleting your passcode, you must use the remote control included with this TV. You cannot use any Mitsubishi remote control from another component or a "universal" remote.

TV channels locked. 7 year old 27 in TV. GE

I have the same model with the same problem. I used a Radio Shack 4 in One remote that I had laying around to access the TV and used the code 1234 for the V-chip passcode. I would just keep trying 4 digit codes if this one does not work.
