Maytag quiet series 100 dryer stopped drying after we moved into our new house, what may be the cause?

It sound like a bad timer motor.check with a local parts store for the replacement part and remove the screws from the top rear housing and you will see how to replace it

Probably the timer motor is broken, or electrical connection bad. Probably need a replacement timer. OR something has wrapped around the dial shaft and is binding the dryer.

try looking on the back and on the bottom of the dryer and see if there's a reset button there

Most drying problems are related to the vent exhaust hose the fryer is connected too. It should be strait and short as possible,metal only. Make sure the vent is clean and the outside vent hood is opening. Any air obstruction will hinder performance.

when on time dry the dryer counts down like a clock,when on auto or more or less the heat comes on until hot then when the heat cycles off the timer will avance,when it calls for heat the timer stops advancing and the heat will come on again until clothes are dry.so you either have no heat,bad sensor or you can try wiping it off,if you use cling free sheets the sensor can get a film on it and then can't sense the clothes,try hitting it with sos or something that will clean it.do you have heat and is it gas or electric,if you can send model number it would be helpful

You will need to clean the "internal duct work" for any blockage.

my daughter had same problem. maytag used to be build to last but no more. the dryer tub sits on the front lip around the door opening the support breaks and then the tub has no support and ride around rubbing on opening lip squeeking and causes a lot of friction and will either break the belt or a plastic piece on the motor. it broke all the above on my daughters dryer. we just junked it good luck

People, the first words the poster said were that the dryer was "brand new". All of your suggestions assume the dryer had extensive use. This sounds like a factory defect issue!!!! My brand new Maytag Cabrio gas dryer is also making an obnoxious buzzing sound that seems to cycle on and off as the gas ignites. The buzzing sounds electronic not mechanical. What would buzz when the burner is active?
