I have a computer that only can get the fix system area and boot, not the system recovery. That is- only the F1 and Esc. If you can fix this, how much do you charge? Now I don't want any run around, how much do you charge and I NEVER want a life time menbership I speak in luie of the BOX, slow vehicle sticker on vehicles, part time no hard schedules or quotas, publishing on trash receptacles and garbadge cans and paper in had with the latter as a greeting for 10 years.

thank you for this answer. Just a little ***** inquiry. Can I get this disk for free somewhere that you think, again, think only (I will in no way hold you at all responsible for a theif that gets the disk! I am John T. Schiffer, I mean I will not hold you at all responsible if I get a worse problem with an "unknown" disk.) for free?

again, I realize that you cannot be responcible for a "rip off" computer disk I you inform me of a free site. Thank you.

In luie of the same for 10 years....no hard scheducles and slow sticker on vehicle.

Hi,

With the issue you are having, it only indicates that the operating system is corrupted together with the recovery partition. At this point, all I recommend you to do is contact HP at 866-408-5408 and request for a recovery disc. This will reload the operating system and all the drivers plus the default programs that came with it when you first got the computer.

About the charges now, you can click ths link and inquire how much it will cost you to get this issue fixed. FixYa does not charge depending on the number of questions you ask but the resolution of the problem. If your issue is not fixed then the amount you paid will be refunded back to you. In full.

That i'm not sure if HP provides these discs for free. It is not downloadable over the internet as well. So, I just don't assume that you need those disc, I RECOMMEND you to contact HP with the number I provided above and only they can tell whether or not it costs you something to get this recovery disc.

Per the internet site, it depends upon the model of laptop. Here are some examples:

The most common Access Bios key is the "DEL" button or "F2". This depends on the laptop model, however, and can be confusing if you do not know which key to press.

Acer: F1, F2, CTRL+ALT+ESC

Compaq Presario pops up a system boot menu everytime at startup.

This comes up mostly when it requires a BIOS save. Try that. If that does not help, sometimes setting the default settings and saving will help.

On the bottom, it shows <esc=boot menu> <f1=setup> <f10=system recovery> but it doesn't respond to anything or move from this screen

Check that your keyboard is connected, and is working properly.
Try your keyboard on a different computer.
Try a different keyboard on your computer.

The 'ESC' key should always work.
The 'F1' key should always work.
If your disk-drive is *NOT* "dead", then the 'F10' key should work.

If neither 'ESC' nor 'F1' work, you have a serious problem with the motherboard.

How to reset to factory settings a toshiba satellite A305-S6829 with Vista ? (pressing 0, or F8 didn't bring me far!

To access the Toshiba recovery partition, power off the laptop. Hold down the 0 (zero) key and turn the laptop on. Keep holding down the zero key until the TOSHIBA logo appears, where you should start tapping the zero key repeatedly. Stop if the unit beeps or when the TOSHIBA logo disappears. The screen should flash ** HDD RECOVERY MODE ** for a split second, then load the Toshiba recovery program right from the hard drive.

Note that this erases all data, and reloads all factory default software. Be sure to back up all your important personal data beforehand!

How do i reboot are how can i get my computer back like i bbough it

Boot the system up and hold down the ‘Esc’ key, then press F1 when you get the check system message. You are then in the BIOS Setup and you can change the boot order (put the cd first) and save and exit by pressing the ‘End’ key. Then all you have to do is put the recovery disk in, reboot and follow the instructions.

Have toshiba a100 not operating properly want to do complete system recovery. Have disc but when it is inserted nothing happens

Turn on computer immediately hold down Esc. Hit F1 to get into the BIOS setup page. Look for Boot Options to change the order to CD-ROM first, then HDD. Save changes and exit to restart system and let the cd boot. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Compaq Presario Disk Boot Failure, insert sytem disk and press enter

If you have your original Windows install disk, you can boot off of that, and should be able to recover most of your files, assuming your drive has not died fully. Depending on how important your files are, you can send the drive to a drive recovery service. I did that a couple years ago, they were able to recover all my files but it was EXPENSIVE. $1200.
