When i try and switch oven on the light to say the oven is heating does not come on and it does not get hot. Fan and internal light do come on so suggests there is electric supply. Could it be a thermostat or heating element problem
We had a similar problem with Smeg fan forced over. The fan turned but the element around the fan didn't heat. Tried looking for the high-limit switch to reset, but couldn't find it. Eventually unscrewed a metal plate off the back of the oven and found a broken wire. Fixed this and the element now works. Don't forget to unplug oven before unscrewing things.
Do the top and bottom elements come on when selected?
If the fan comes on, but none of the other elements come on when selected, it might be that the thermostat switch needs to be reset.
By the thermostat connection at the back, there should be a switch - a small blue button, than might have popped out. Push it back in and see if it works...
It worked for me when I replaced my element many years ago, and last night when my oven stopped giving heat, I had to open up the back and reset the button.

Your problem may be an accumulation of 2 or 3 things. no light could be blown bulb or loose connection also you may have a thermostat issue or corroded connection going to element or a blown element. check power at element if power there then element is blown. if no power then check voltage goin into thermostat. it has to be one or the other. You are right, it could be a thermostat or a heater problem. You should check that the heater element receive power. In case it receive power,the heater element should be replaced. In case it doesn't receive power, the problem is with the thermostat. In any case, check as well that all wires connected to the thermostat and the heater are in place. Good luck.
Before you change anything try the broiler circuit. If the broiler works then it could be an element if not then you could have a problem with the oven thermostat.
I have the same problem. The oven was working fine until I cleaned it. There was a power failure during the cleaning, but it appeared to function properly until the cleaning cycle finished. I spoke to Dacor customer service and they told me there is a "high limit" switch to ensure that high temperatures do not damage the electronics. They recommended calling a local servicer to come and check the oven and reset the switch. They indicated that the servicer may be willing to tell me over the phone where the switch is so that I could reset it myself. They like to have someone come out just to make sure nothing else is wrong with the oven. Given that there was a power failure in my case, chances are a simple reset will do the trick. You may have a similar situation. If anyone knows where the switch is, it would be good to share on this forum. In any event, I'll call the local service department tomorrow and try to find out.
I figured it out. It was indeed the hi limit switch. To access it, open the oven door and remove the six screws on the black panel above the oven opening. Pull out the black metal shield in the center. Toward the back of the exposed parts in the center is a black round component with a red button in the center. This is the hi limit switch. The red button is the manual reset button. Press this in to reset. Note that it does not press in easily - you really have to press hard until you feel it click. That does the trick.

First thing to check in a case like this is the main switch as this is almost always the problem as if it was just the heating element then the light would come on as well as the fan. Also be sure to check the house curcuit breaker as in this case has been a big amount of service calls for blown breakers Good Luck. Oh yea depending on the ovens type there may also be a control panel that the switch tells the elements and fans and lights to com e on..

Two things sharyn, first check the breakers. It is possible that one of two that control the stove tripped...they are in tandem. Shut them off and back on. If no fix: You'll have to remove and test the element. (if more than one element is involved here...it might be the thermostat) Breakers off, pull the element out and have someone take an ohm meter and test the unit. Still no good? Then it will be the thermostat or relay. Let me know what you find.

There is no doubt that it is the element that has failed, so all you need to do is replace the fan oven element.
If you can see a removable panel at the rear of the oven ,remove that, and you should see the element.
Remove and replace.
If ther is no removable panel then you will have to access it from the rear of the oven cabinet.

It sounds like you have either one of the following things that need attention. First, turn off both breakers to the oven and then back on. Next check the wiring from the receptacle to the back of the oven. Next, check your internal fuses. Most ovens have them. Last, check the wiring to the elements and control switches. Somewhere you have a wire burned off the terminals or control switch. That smell you referred to is probably one of the wires that may be burned.

When I turn the oven control to all round heating, the fan works but the oven does not heat up. All other controls work fine. It is a SMEG D04SS-5
top oven doesn't heat @ all but the control light comes on, self cleaning doesn't work either. bottom oven comes on & heats very slowly but does not seem to keep up w/ the temperature,self cleaning also doesn't work but convetion does work on the bottom, possible the fan works on top but don'T remember. the oven model # IS GLEB27T8ASA,SERIEL NO IS NF22914964.
On my NEFF B1451 oven the thermostat got mechanically damaged and the oven was overheating. Have replaced the thermostat,but now the oven will not heat up at all, main fan does not work and oven light not on. However when I operate main switch with door open the light comes on momentarily and the main fan turns briefly if fan selected on the selector switch. It seems like a relay is cutting off the power to them as soon as it is switched on. Have also noticed current of air coming out of front top of oven whilst heater fan not working, is there another fan ?
i seem to have the same problem, the griller works, but not the oven.tried to locate the reset switch but unable to locate it.
simpson wall oven has no heat the fan still works as does the top element but the oven doesn't get hot
using the fan oven for an extended period the front knobs get hot then the oven cuts off clock goes off etc
