My waterbottle detachable strap (looks like a nylon belt) got into the wash by accident, and is wrapped around the center agitator. How do I get it off? Is it possible to remove the center agitator? Or do I need to cut the strap?
Thanks so much for your advice.

This issue could be caused by a number of things. It is possible that the clothes are not properly balanced in the wash drum, causing them to wrap around the agitator. It could also be a problem with the agitator itself, or with the transmission.
This problem is usually caused by the wig-wag not functioning. There are ele celinoids on it and they go bad. If the washer agitates properly but you just dont get the spin cycle, its probably the wig-wag. You can look up the part on sears parts site and see if it is still available or obsolete.
now you need to pull upward firmly but hard. there are small splines holding the agitator in position. carefull if the agitator has two parts to it as there are usually plastic (dogs)inside which could spring loose if you are not careful.
