Need to set the washing machine for hot cycle, with cold rinse and it is not letting me do it. The default goes to warm water!!! Tried setting the option for my own favorites, does not work!

Did this and it still does not let me select Hot with a cold water rinse...

Our Ecosmart washer won't let us hot soak. It defaults to warm (as an energy saving feature). We have successfully used the "favorite" program in order to get hot water for a normal wash cycle. If anyone knows how to trick the washer into letting you hot soak, let us know. Thanks.

thinking it may be the valve. do you think the computer will need to be reset after we replace the part? I will set it on cold and it will try to switch to medium or hot in mid cycle. The hot water isn't on because the machine keeps it running.

In owner's manual, go to Machine Information/Care and Cleaning/Cleaning the Inside of Your Ecosmart for a total hot water wash fill:

Press POWER button
Press and hold Favorite button for a few seconds until you hear two quick beeps.
Select Permanent Press cycle.
Select HOT wash. (Yes, you can do this in this mode.)
Press Favorite again to store the selections.

It really works!

I have centrex washing machine 4.5 kg, the problem is it stops after washing. it doesnt rinsing the clothes stops at this point.

It could be that the cold inlet valve is faulty.. Your machine will rinse with cold water only and if the inlet is faulty then it won't fill for the rinse cycle. This also means that the wash cycle, if set on 'warm' is only getting hot water. Set the wash temp to cold and see if the machine will fill. If not, the cold inlet valve is the problem. You'll need to replace the inlet valve which may be a double unit with two hose connections Best to call a tech..Good luck Nomess (Please take a moment to rate this answer)

NO WATER INTAKE WHILE RINSE OPTION IS ON

It sound like the cold water inlet valve is faulty, the rinse cycle uses only cold water, and the water in the 'wash' cycle is probably hot.You need a new inlet valve, which on your machine is probably a double hot/cold unit.If you can't get a new inlet valve, a handyman/electrician may be able to change the wiring to use the 'hot' inlet valve for cold water which will allow the machine to wash, and rinse, using cold water through the hot valve..Tikka?...Good luck...Nomess

The washing machine won't start if "cold water" only is selected. It will only work when "warm water" or "hot water" is selected (and even then there is only hot water filling the machine, the cold water...

Check the cold water solenoid. If a meter is not available you can swap the hot and cold wires and see if the symptom changes to hot water when cold is selected. If so the mixing valve needs replaced. If no then further testing of the wire harness and timer circuit are needed.

You are better off swapping the valves over in the machine until you can buy a replacement valve. I've done this for a month or so until I replaced the valve. Works as long as you only use a cold wash and your cold water is not too cold as to make the machine want to add some hot. If it does this then simply press start to clear the fault.

When washing machine goes to rinse cycle, water barely comes in

I am going to guess you run a warm wash, and cold rinse. This sounds like the screen on the cold water inlet is clogged. Shut the water off and remove the hose at the back of the machine. Look in the water inlet and see if the screen is clogged. If so, carefully scrape it as clean as you can. Use a straw and blow into it to help clear it out. Replace the hose and try it. It does not need to be perfectly clean, but at least half way opened will suffice.

Warm Wash: Force it to be cold?

you will need to put a "Y" in the cold water line and remove the hot water hose otherwise the hot water solenoid will open up and let in hot water,if you have cold water to both solenoids then you can get done what you want to accomplish, wash and rinse in cold water on all cycles

Cold wash/rinse selected, but only hot water is used

I have a Sears front load washer and I also noticed that on a cold wash/cold rinse cycle the machine was drawing hot water.

Laundry detergents require water to be at a certain temperature to aid in disolve. The machine adds sufficient hot water, regardless of the cycle, until that temp is reached. If I was to use a cold water detergent the machine, because it has no way of knowing which detergent I'm using, will still add hot water until that minimum temp is released. I don't know if there are machines available which include detergent type as an option?

WATER TEMP CONTROL PROBLEM i have no cold cold wash rinse cycle, only hot cold and that rinses in hot

Hi, Sounds like the cold water side of the mixer valve has gone bad or has gotten plugged. Do you have cold water in the wash cycle?
Remove the hoses from the inlet valve and see if there is sand in the screens.
Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Rinse cycle

If the machine has a soak cycle, you can use that. If it does not, you can have it fill on a cold rinse, and then stop it for a soak. Restart it on a hot wash with a cold rinse. Tumble dry low.
