Tip & How-To about Black & Decker B2000 Bread Maker

Sticky Bread Machine Paddles.

When the paddle was removed from the bread it tore out a large chunk of the bread. What is needed is a hard slippery coating. I did the following to two of my older machines: Buy a spray can of Hi-Temp engine enamel, gloss finish. Thouroughly clean paddle with a strong solvent, I used lacquer thinner and steel wool. Spray on two coats and bake in oven at 450 degrees for an hour. No more sticking!

Bread keeps sticking to paddle. Tears a big chunk of bread out of bottom. Happens all the time. Any solutions, Thanks

You might need a new paddle if cleaning yours doesn't work. It needs its release coating. You could also try making sure the paddle moves smoothly on its shaft. If it hangs up when you pull the loaf out, it'll tear a big hole in the bottom of the loaf. Replacement paddles for most makes can be found on eBay. They run around $15, though, so I'd try cleaning and lubrication with vegetable oil first. Good luck.

How do I remove the stirring paddle to replace it with a new one? I've tried pulling it out with a large pair of pliers

I'm sorry you used pliers. If it has the non-stick coating you may have damaged it.
I have posted a video on you tube of how to remove a severely stuck bread machine paddle.

Just go to you tube and type in ...How to remove a stuck bread machine paddle or kneading blade"
and you will see how to do it without damaging your paddle or pan.

crust is thick and hard, paddles tear large chunk from bottom of loaf when removed from pan.

unfortunately all bread machines leave the hole in the bottom where the paddle is. some machines leave a bigger hole than others, with the exception of the cuisinart cbk-200 which allows you to remove the dough, then remove the paddle, then reshape and replace the dough....One thing you can try to have a softer, lighter crust is to replace the water in your recipe with the same amount of milk. If the hole in the big hole in the loaf really bothers you I suppose you could remove the dough exactly at the end of the final knead, remove the paddle and replace the dough in the pan...I've never done it but I've certainly considered it! best wishes and happy breadmaking...

Re Black & Decker Bread Maker: Most of the time the paddles remains stuck in the pan and the bread sticks to the paddles. As a result, loaves usually have large chunks torn out of them. There are occasional exceptions to this. What are the deciding factors?

Hi, Take the paddle out of the machine at the end of the last kneading cycle and before final rise.. Use pause or take pan out of machine to remove paddle. OR... spray the shaft with a small amount of olive oil. This should allow paddle to come out when bread is done. You will have to fish the paddle out of the bread in this step. Hank

removing finished bread from pan

Before the baking cycle begins, remove the bread pan ,shake out the batter onto a piece of waxed paper, remove the paddle from the bread pan, place batter back into the pan, close lid. This way you only have a small hole in the finished loaf. I prefer the 1.5 pound rye bread, and set a kitchen timer for 2 hours 5 minutes-when the "shape" cycle finishes,we remove the paddle.
This is listed in my manual on page 76,item # 7;heading is METHOD.
Front of the manual lists the times for the cycles, just add them up.
(When you dump the batter back into the pan,try to pat down the rough edges,it looks better).
