Bought a Utilitech #0192773 to

Utilitec 0192773 replaces single-pole switch and will not work for 3-way applications.

Open following link for clear wiring and programming steps for Utilitec 0192773
http://waterheatertimer.org/Program-wire-Utilitec-0192773.html

Utilitec can also be tricky to program if you are setting up astro dawn-dusk function.

For others finding this thread, same wiring applies to in-wall programmable timers by GE, Woods, Swilight, Sylvania, Tork, Hagar, UPM, Leviton, Grasslin, Wattstopper, Westek, and Intermatic analog timers. Intermatic battery-operated, Brinks and Aube timers are wired differently since they also work for 3-way applications.

New intermatic timer installed. I can turn on

If display shows, and timer turns lights on-off with manual override, then timer is wired correctly, and battery is good.
If timer will not turn ON at scheduled time, but turns OFF correctly, then best suspect is the programming.
Open following link for ST01C programming steps.
http://waterheatertimer.org/ST01C-program.html

Program1 is ON
Program2 is OFF
Program3 is ON
Program4 is OFF, etc

Review your schedule: Press Mode button until PGM starts flashing, and then press ON-OFF button until 01 starts flashing.
If Program1 cannot be set for some reason, then set your ON schedule on Program3 and ignore Program1. The timer does not mind if you have OFF set on Program2 and ON set on Program3 or Program5 or Program7 etc.

If you have multiple programs, for example different ON-OFF times for each day, then check for scheduling conflicts that will cause timer not to function as expected.

If timer is defective, contact seller about 1-year warranty.

I have a T104P3 timer

Sounds like the ON tripper is worn down.
Check that dial is rotating correctly each 24-hours. If not then wiring might be wrong.

The toggle switch I am

It sounds like this third wire is supplying power to the switch it is going to. If that is the case then you need to isolate which wire in your switch box is the power coming in and tie them together . It is probably tied on to that screw because it was added on, possibly.

I, too, only have 2

I wrote a page on the Utilitec 0192773
It shows how to wire the timer and shows the manual larger.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Program-wire-Utilitec-0192773.html

Timer-green wire connects to bare ground wire.
Here's what to do Switch has 2 wires.
1) Take switch wires and connect them to timer-black-wire and timer-red-wire. Choose either one for now.
2) In back of electric box are white wires twisted together and covered with wire nut. These are the neutral wires. Connect timer-white to these wires.
3) If electric box does not have white neutral wires described above, then connect timer-white to bare ground.
4) Turn on electricity, and push ON-OFF button. If lights come on, timer is wired correctly. If lights do not come on, then reverse timer-red and timer-black wires.

The display is not working

The display is powered by 2 LR44 batteries.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Flipdown.html#LR44

Replace batteries and then reset current time and day.
Programs should remain without needing to be reprogrammed.

If battery does not restore function of display, try resetting timer.
Once timer is reset, programs are deleted.

If reset does not work, then replace timer.

I bought a Utilitech Self

The reason there is 2 black in the wall is because a standard line breaking switch was used. Meaning the hot side of the light was the black wire once broken light goes off. You would hook the black from switch to black in wall and white from switch to other black in wall green is ground and red put wire nut on. Red is for a 2 switch system. Where one of two switches in same room controls same light. Its not needed. Take caution when doing this trun light on goto breaker box and flip breakers till you find the right one that powers that light. once lights off then do your thing replacing.

I have a utilitec self

If resetting timer does not restore functionality, and timer has power, and you checked that LIGHT BULB is good, then timer has gone bad.
To double-check circuit, replace timer with ordinary on-off switch and see if it works.
Warranty: buy new 0192773 timer at Lowes, and return broken one inside new package.

I am installing a intilitech 7 day in wall timer

Utilitec does not make a 2 speed timer.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Program-wire-Utilitech-LW60419.html

1) One possible option is a timer with NO and NC terminals like Intermatic-Grasslin FM1 series rated 1 HP. This example timer would have the motor running continually on either one speed or the other.
http://www.intermatic.com/~/media/files/intermatic/products/instructions/grasslin/fm1%20series%20time%20switches.ashx

2) Inside a 2-speed motor are two separate windings.
Windings are loops of copper wire that cause the fan motor to rotate.
For 2-speed, each winding has to be connected to a different 'switch.'
For example, like a ceiling fan. You pull the chain once, and electricity flows to one winding. Pull the chain again, and the switch sends electricity to another winding.

3) The following wiring diagram shows ordinary on-off timer connected to 2-speed switch: This is the basic plan for Broan Nutone 2-speed switch timer, which might be the product you are replacing
http://blog.airscapefans.com/wp-content/uploads//timer_option1_1-1024x768.jpg

4) Nutone makes a 2-speed whole house fan timer.
http://www.nutone.com/PDF/InstallGuides/CFS2WHins89777.pdf

5) And open following Broan Nutone manual that show the two spped timer wiring
http://www.nutone.com/PDF/InstallGuides/CFS2ins57169.pdf

I have an intematic wall

1) I tested this timer and read pdf on battery specs:
20-30 days is battery life for CR2 ST01C battery
http://waterheatertimer.org/ST01C-program.html#battery

2) In addition, Fixya customers report needing to change battery frequently when timer is located in garage.
The same is true for Aube timers since timer display is dependent on rechargeable battery.
I have not tested every timer, but it seems in-wall timers that are used for 3-way switching have this problem.

3) If your garage timer is not 3-way, where more than 1 switch controls same light, then buy single pole timer and replace Intermatic.
For example GE 15086 & 15071, Woods 59018 & 59028, Tork SS720 (which is GE), Utilitec 014224

4) If you need astronomic dawn-dusk timer that is single-pole and not battery operated, then buy Utilitec 0192773 - LW60419 at Lowes.
Link below gives manual and wiring, both are tricky judging by number of fixya requests.
