the problem is that you bought a Toshiba. i have a customer who we di the same thing with. spent hundreds on a bulb and toshiba had a little surprise for us. messed colors. Tried resets etc with no luck. i've been told that is is the nice expencive colour wheel or coloor board also costing a lot. The word on the street is that this is very common and people say that thier customer care doesn't care. I think that when the bulb blows it can sometimes spike the color wheel or color board vibrates the color wheel when it blows.Perhaps all of these angry customers could dynabolt their tvs to the toshiba staffs carpark, go the the higher people in the toshiba food chain

Hello sir, hi, this requires that projector be checked, to fine the whining sound this requires disassembly, or have the unit checked for loose fan blades by a technician, and find that whining sound. If not replacing the bulb is useless, the bulb will always blow up.

CK the Lamp Fan if it is not running,or stops running when Lamp trys to light then the Fan is defective,If the Lamp Fan is Ok then Ballast Board could be bad .

This could be a sign of the color wheel failing. This is part of the light engine assembly and is not sold separately as far as I know. My most common source lists the light engine as out of stock. (The last quote I had was ~$600 for the assembly.)
The cooling fans can also cause a noise as they fail. However, the red light would be blinking in that case.
